I’m not the only one who thinks Roman Numeral Art is the worst owner in Pittsburgh

The Steelers were basically gifted their HQ from UPMC. The Spotrts Center complex was Dr Fu’s brainchild and UPMC/Pitt funded it. I’ve lived thru 3 generations of Steelers ownership. The Chief was a lovable loser. They never won anything under his leadership. Dan was the man. He built the a world class franchise. He handed it over to Art3. It’s been in decline since.

Dan Rooney’s standard is no longer the standard. Just keep extending Tomlins contract and shoot for a winning season. And wait for the taxpayers to fund a new facility and upgrade the deplorable stadium they built on the cheap.

He handed the reigns over to Dan in 1969. Who hired Chuck Noll. That’s a fact. The Chief was a great guy, obviously, but when he ran the Steelers, they never won anything. My dad took me to games at Pitt Stadium in the 60’s. They were horrible. The Pirates were much better then and actually more popular.

"I have spent my entire life devoted to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the National Football League," said Dan Rooney, one of the most influential owners in NFL history. "I will do everything possible to work out a solution to ensure my father's legacy of keeping the Steelers in the Rooney family and in Pittsburgh for at least another 75 years."[6]
... Too right... We did a thread on this before... The Steelers
didn't surpass the Pirates in popularity until a bit AFTER their
second Super Bowl final WIN.

I thought I heard he was rated #2 as worst rated owner! I'd agree that the team has been running on legacy experiences and throwbacks to how the team WAS focused, strong defense or now a strong offense line.

Seems like they still have some good niche players,- but lacking in quite a few spots. Not the championship team of days gone by, but the whole game has changed since the last decades.

Still seems like we are struggling to find an identity since the days of Polamalu. Roony's are tight with money in the wrong spots.

We need to start with a new head coach IMHO....Tomlin is like an old comic book, You've seen the hype and you know how it ends. Has there ever been a win in PGH where it wasn't a comeback that started in the 3rd quarter, and a myriad of 3rd and long situations, we telegraph to the opposing team? For fucks sake, lets get some new plays, and the short pass game needs to really get it's shit together> Little better end of this season, but not by much.
