Another Mass Shooting In Texas

Witness video has revealed the desperate police shootout that ended a mass shooting rampage in the neighboring cities of Midland and Odessa, Texas.

The shooter, identified only as a white male in his mid 30s, was shot and killed by police in the parking lot of the Cinergy movie theater in Odessa on Saturday.

At least five people were killed and 21 people were injured in the shooting rampage. Three law enforcement officers were among the injured, Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said. One of the injured victims is a 17-month old toddler and another injured victim is 2 years old, officials said.

The incident began with an attempted traffic stop by a Texas Department of Public Safety officer on Saturday at about 4.17pm ET.

The fleeing suspect shot the officer, hijacked an US Postal Service mail van and fired at random motorists along Interstate 20 before being taken down at the theater, police said.

Shocking witness video from the theater shows police confronting the suspect outside of the theater and engaging in a shootout.

the Daily Mail always gets a story faster, with more pertinent photos, than any other news outlet. they have a Hell of an organization in place.

this mass shooting is different from the "usual", in that it seems like the shooter flipped when he was getting pulled over. no prior plot to shoot a couple dozen people.

Some people dismiss Daily Mail as a sensationalist tabloid. Or they can't believe that an English newspaper can give accurate American news. The reality though is just what you wrote, the Daily Mail gives you the news faster than other media outlets (including American media outlets), with plenty of vivid photos. They're truly exceptional.

Yes this mass shooting is different but the question is, what made him flip out? Something made him not just flip out at the officer who pulled him over but shoot lots of innocent people all over the place. This was a guy looking to die and not just die but take lots of people's lives down with him. The officer pulling him over must have given this monster the excuse he needed.

A very sick line of thinking that a lot of these mass murderers have is "I want to die but I don't want to die alone. I want to kill as many people as I can before I die. Why should other people be happy when I'm miserable? I'll take them down with me."

I see no other reason why he randomly shot so many innocent people just because he was pulled over by a cop..and he shot with the intent to kill.

Technically it is not a mass shooting

Arguing over semantics. I would say he was a mobile mass shooter targeting people of opportunity. I read that fuckhead in El Paso actually got away from the scene and then came back and turned himself in.
I'm only glad he didn't continue elsewhere.

7 innocent people were brutally murdered, taken in the prime of their lives,

22 innocent people were seriously injured including a 17 months baby and a 2 year old toddler,

and we are arguing about whether it was a mass shooting or a spree?

Another psycho.
that's it. they're going to concrete action on this one. someone high up leaked a confidential memo on next steps planned:

1. express shock

2. convey grief

3. offer thoughts and prayers

4. call for reasonable gun control measures like background checks

5. trump stating he supports such measures

6. trump photo-op

7. calls/meetings with the NRA

8. not a thing.

9. wait for next event, rinse and repeat steps 1-9
That's about all can be done..
