I have not worked in Peru but I have worked/ran heavy construction projects throughout Central/South America and have met many people that have worked there and two or three of that brought back nice and vary attractive wives. Here is what I have collectively heard in a nutshell.
The tallent is quite limited if you are in remote area;however, do not dispare! The local school teaches have been subsidized by the government for thier education. Part of their payback is to teach in rural ares. The way the society is structured in the rural areas does not allow the teached (professioria) to date the local un-educated men. Therefore an educated foreginer is a premium prospect. The teachers are generally Catholic as is most of the country and being Catholic makes you strong husband material. My friens hve told me that some of the teachers are very attractive and very sexiually accomodating/adventuresome . You can play the dating game to great advanatage for a while (months) but sooner or later one of the girls is going to put on some serious marriage pressure. If she fails the word gets out and your prospects may nose dive.
So, if you find yourself in the middle of nowhere in the mountains go look for a teacher group of some sort. Good luck and happy hunting!
