Can I be a PORN STAR?

Hey there!

I have been looking towards doing porn and have been for quite a while now. Does anyone have any helpful information about where or how to get started? Love the hobby, but I want to open other doors in the Adult world. Feel free to PM me if you like.

Thanks,
Nikki

You might want to PM Sweet Heather. She has often posted of her days in front of the camera. If you don't want to re-locate, you will need to find out what the laws are that cover that sort of production here in TX. I also believe there is an association that professional adult stars belong to which might have a web site?

Good luck and be careful.

I have a casting couch if you wanna get some practice in.

Well, it's not a REAL casting couch, but we can pretend.

If you can work on the west coast, check out this: http://www.spunkmouth.com/talent/

Billy has been shooting porn for a while; his blog is pretty funny and informative about the business. Give it a read through: http://www.ishootporn.com/
Miss Nikki;;; you have always been a porn star during our sessions.

As far as Texas goes you can forget it, the statue pretty much covers everything so you cant even film here. However you dont have to reside in CA to be featured. Summer Sinn lives on the East coast and flies out to Cali for filming.

Also remember that filming is done in other places but doesnt mean its legal.

A little bit of reality.

This is not true. I did a bit of research, then posted on the subject here.

Briefly,
There are no federal laws against porn. Porn is protected by the first amendment. There are laws against obscenity.

Two states have tried to arrest producers of porn and the actors, on prostitution charges. Both times, it was overturned by the state Supreme Court as unconstitutional.

There is porn being made all over Texas. Nobody is getting arrested for it. Nobody is getting rich from it either, but it's as good a place as any to get started. Better to find out if it's really for you before you move to the valley. Shit is expensive out there, and the place is crawling with girls who thought it was their dream job but changed their mind after the first year... or week.

Nikki, PM me if you would like to know more.

And now, in an attempt to be a bit less serious, a bit of advice from the state of Washington on the subject. As odd as it sounds, they give good advice.

Monica Foster has some advice here: http://www.gettingintoporn.com/.

The aforementioned Billy has some no-holds-barred advice at the aforementioned site; you might have to dig for it but it certainly puts porn into a slightly different perspective.

And there's also some advice here: http://forum.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/...77#post1727077.

I don't know how many of your friends or relatives know or care about what you're doing now, or whether they'll know (immediately, at least -- you won't be able to keep it a secret) or care about porn. I don't wish to sound preachy or like a WK; but I'm just not sure that everyone who goes into porn fullly considers the potential effects on present and future friends, family, and employers when their faces are pemanently available on DVD covers and the web as the stars of "Sword Swallowing Sluts #12." IOW, escorting, done properly, affords you a degree of anonymity and deniability that is lost in porn.

The girl who originated the ADT thread I cited above was apparently outed to her high school, parents and friends before her career even got started.

Having said all that, I hope to be wanking to you soon!

Remember I said just because people film it in places other than CA and the other state doesnt make it legit.

Miller v. California determined the sale and distribution of obscene material was NOT protected by the first amendment. The Court set three criteria's which must be met in order for porn to be legitimately subject to state regulation.

Freeman v. California only made it to the California Supreme Court, it was never brought to Texas only NH. Therefore it doesn't apply to Texas.

There is a difference between porn, and obscene material. Not all porn is obscene. These days it seems there has to be a horse, a toilet, and a drill press involved before porn is in danger of being labeled obscene. If the D.A. can't prove it's obscene (a tough sell because a jury of 12 decides, and they're unpredictable), it's protected under the First Amendment.

Freeman didn't go national, but the lesson from it did. No state wants to risk having the court officially state that something they want to stop is protected.
After it happened in Freeman, California became the porn capital, because the court told the state in writing that they were wrong to stop it without proving it obscene first.
Both states that tried it got publicly slapped down by the courts for restricting free speech through mis-use of the pandering and prostitution laws, in order to get around the obscenity requirements.

Texas won't risk that, and neither will the other 47 states.

What is your definition of legal? Mine is that they won't arrest you for it, and if they do, they get in trouble.

I'd say it fits.
If you can fuck babe you can do porn. I say go for it.

You won't make much, but they'll give you a lot of work. I could put you in contact with some friends and have you "doing porn" as soon as you pass STD screening. Once again, you can do a lot of porn scenes if you don't mind the low pay. Give Porno Dan Leal a shout (google him).

If you want to tackle all of the companies in one fell swoop, go to the Adult Entertainment Expo in Vegas every January. I go every year - lots of opportunities. Keep in mind that a lot of girls want in for the excitement, but very few actually make decent money and make the A-list. But anyone can work if they'll work cheap enough..and for Max Hardcore.

Watch out for the herpes too - most adult industry actors and actresses have it, Belladonna does http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9zeLmK_LEA
