pics that are put under reviews by male members

Recently a pic was put under a review of mine. I have never wanted this and it has happened. I asked a mod to take it down but was told no because the pic was found under my showcase. If that is the rule, then so be it. I am putting this question up because I am now reorganizing how I do things (website, pics without face) etc etc... and need a few answers answered on how to fix this. By no means do I want to run to another mod's and complain. I want to comply by all the rules.

My question is~~~ If I take down my whole showcase will the pic then be removed, or is it just up forever? Or If I just blank out my face can I request that this be the new pic under the review since I was told it would not be taken down.

For some reason I was thinking that I could ask for those kinds of things to be removed (pics under reviews) they would. I have requested them to be removed in the past and they have. Have the rules just changed?

Thank you all for your help! You are ALL greatly appreciated, and without you guys.... well you get it, enough brown nosing

Why don;t you ask the guy to take the pic down or have him ask the mod to take the pic down as a favor. 'shouldn't be that big of deal.
If a pic is in your showcase, then I would feel okay using it because you already have it up for non-premium and premium access members to see. But then again, I don't re-post showcase pics. Change your showcase and any other gallery on the net you may have, then try and make request to mod for some adjustments.

I would also note, if it's in the ROS part of the review or in private tags, technically you're not suppose to know it's there (I think). So I'm not sure how mods respond to that.
Simple answer is it will not be removed. If the picture was a photo that he took of you, then we have to believe that you gave him your permission to take and use the photo. If it was a photo that you posted in your showcase, ie public domain, then you gave permission to use it by posting it.

If you remove it from your showcase, it is my understanding that it will still not be removed (as permission for use was given by conduct) short of a request by the OP (original Poster) which then becomes a judgement call by the local Mod or because of a legitimate security reason.

Thank you for your input... it is sad to see the days where I cannot post my face in pics.... thanks again all

I'm not a mod but I am a cool guy. If I posted a picture on a review and the provider asked to remove it as a favor I would take it down no problem. Have you asked the reviewer to remove the picture? I have spoken to many providers and many say no face pictures. Once they are out there in Internet land they don't go away. One day you will stop this and you won't want those pictures floating around. I hope the reviewer is a cool guy and does as you ask with the picture. Maybe if he is a good guy he will be rewarded when you show your gratitude LOL.

As I have explained to ladies again and again, no good ever comes from posting full face photos or allowing anyone in the hobby to have same.

Absolutely nothing ever posted on the Internet can be fully removed. I know of more than a dozen archival sites (Google being the largest and most active) where "supposedly" photo removal requests will be considered, but rarely have I seen anything be totally disappeared.

Just consider Tineye, for example. Last time I looked (this morning as a matter of fact) here's what Tineye told me:

"Searched over 3.6623 billion images in 1.094 seconds."

Now, although Tineye is promoted as a "reverse image" search engine, my hunch is that its business plan sooner or later will include forward searching as well. And not just by face, but by potential or possible web link or web site.

With many dozens of archival web crawlers operating, who is to know where or even how to find whether your face (or other image) has been crawled, stored, and gawd knows when it will pop up somewhere down the line.

Not to scare, horrify or pair-a-noid anyone, but millions of faces have also been collected by multiple law enforcement agencies from the feds to the states and cities. Damn near unavoidable if you enter public spaces, such as airports, bus terminals, even shopping malls.

And, yes, ladies, be on the alert for gents who take your pictures when you visit their premise or when they "innocently" prop their cell phone on your dresser with the camera pointed toward you or the bed. No sh*t! Heard about another one of those jerks just last week!

But, in these internet spaces, most of us have full control over our faces and whether someone captures them or not.
wow I guess I never thought about that lol or the freaking computer with that damn little camera never got caught up in this world but in civi world way younger days an ex got me on that web cam thing and made a video, and his friends all got copys very very very embarrassing, 18 or so and a neighborhood porn star and didnt even know it lol
I hope I don't get in trouble by posting this as I'm not sure if it's over a month errr 30 days, but I found the way to remove them, take them off the showcase. If you take it off the showcase it will come off the review

Thank you for all your help to everyone that responded

No it won't, if I copy your pic and then post it, it is in no way connected to your showcase. The only way it's coming off is if the person who posted it removes it or staff, which they have said they won't. You have absolutely no control over a pic that has been copied then uploaded to a hosting site, then posted to here. Perhaps if it's an attachment, I don't know in that case. Perhaps the person who posted the pic read this and removed it for you?

It's like someone posting, then editing, but someone else quotes them before the change. Your words and pics are already copied, nothing you can do about it.

If the picture is deleted from the place where it's stored, it will disappear from any posts that link it. If it's linked to the lady's own web site, photobucket, etc., then if she deletes it, it will disappear from all posts.

Apparently, deleting it from your showcase also deletes the stored image, and that will disappear from all posts as well.

If the guy puts it on his own web site, photobucket, etc., it won't disappear unless he removes it from that web site.

The guy can also post a picture as an attachment, and that won't disappear, either.
