Long Range shooting

While home on leave I found a new Gun Range that has long distance shooting out to 1000 yds. It's called Best of the West and is located in Liberty Hill, Tx, just a short drive outside of Austin. You can shoot up to 50 cal rifles here but the range also offers a Pistol range, Skeet Range, Archery Range and of course a rifle range with paper targets at 100 yds, steel targets at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 yds. They charge 20 dollars per day without membership or you can sign up for a membership depending on how much you shoot. I used the range numerous times while home and enjoyed it. No distracting overhang like at Eagle Peak, cement benches and plenty of shooting lanes. Here's the link:http://texasshootingrange.com/
Enjoy!

Thanks for the intel! I'll have to check it out.

Anyone know a range that has a plinking range or somewhere to shot steel plates?
I'll dust off my Winchester 300 magnum.
Thanks for the info. It is hard these days to find a range that goes past 300 yards. I like the 300 -500 range for 2 of my rifles.

Thanks D. - I'm gonna be lazy and ask if they rent spotting scopes. If so, are the spotting scopes up to the long yardage shooting?

Eagle Peak's scopes suck and as little as I shoot, I don't want to spend 400.00+ on my own.

Good place to shoot steel in the New Braunfels area....you can shoot theirs or set your own out. Longest is 540 yds or so.
I stay out that away and there is a great mexican restraunt out that way to you can check out after shooting and have a beer and lunch. It is called Jardine Corona if I spelled it right, anyhow its just over the railroad tracks to the left. Also Delilah's is good on the weekends they have a live band that plays!

@Gump42, They do rent spotting scopes there though I did not try one. My spotter usually just uses my Binoculars.
thanks so much for this info man! I never knew about those! the 100yrd ranges are so boring .

No problem dicinballs, I was excited to find it myself. I had been looking for sometime to find a decent range where you could shoot past 300. My SO and I had a blast shooting out there. It's how I spent a good part of my vacation time while home.

A 1000yd range near Austin?!!

It's about frickin time. That's 10 football fields. I hope they have a golf cart for checking the targets.

I wonder if my PSL could hit anything (I was aiming at) that far.

@Roxanne-Thanks for the tip about the restaurant. I'll make sure to check that out next time.
Talk about being wrong - I saw the title and I thought it had something to do with like maybe being able to hit the ceiling......
