whats the biggest losing day you've ever had?

biggest winning day?

and what did u play?
Yes.

Back about 20 years ago, in Vegas at a real poker table, where they played 7 card stud instead of that stupid Texas Hold Em,

As you know, they keep the table full so every card is delt. I played a while, caught a couple of minor hands, then the dealer gave me two 10's down and one up. Good start. 3 of a kind.

I caught two 6's on the next two cards up, a full house, 10's over 6's, with three to go.

I started betting heavy, and a woman at the other end of the table was matching me and raising me. Every body else was out by car 6, On the 7th, I bet the pot, she raised, I saw it.

I knew she had a couple of 9's up, I figured she was working on three 9's, maybe a flush because she did have 3 spades showing.

I had every penny I brought to Vegas in that pot, and when she rolled over the two 9's in the hole, I died. Four 9's.

What are the odds of two players catching two killer hands in a stud game where every car is delt to 8 players.

I really don't know what was in that pot, but she sure was happy.

I went to that casino in Mobile and played the 3 card game, 2nd hand I got the king of clubs, queen of clubs and jack of clubs, bet and raised. The max pay out was $750

when in Vegas, I enjoy playing baccarat, bigger drinks, and I play the "ties" ie if the game went 10 hands without a winner, I would just bet for a tie

when I was in Dallas, I had a weekly game that was an off shoot of the one at the Columbian Club or the one that Bob Strauss started, yea assup I was only non jew, anyway we played all the 7 card games and good nights I would win $500 and lose $500 on bad nights. At the years end it was net zero for mel

Only when I was young and therefore thought I knew everything. Sat down to play when I could actually not afford to, and lost. Definitely have a different point of view and philosophy now.

My rule: Set an amount to bring to the table. Stick with it.

The rest are song lyrics.

when i was a kid..i had saved close to $700 hundred bucks, hell you could buy a car for $700... i was working my way through college and getting my share of my dad's VA for his serving in WW II and social security..the VA was $18 a month and the Social Security was $88..a cool $106 every month plus i was making maybe $30 a week working..so when the dorm closed for Christmas break and they made us all leave..i had no where to go...so i caught a bus to las vegas

lost it all and spend 5 days walking and hitch hiking back to texas

how did i get this way? a kid getting VA and social security and no place to go for Christmas? because my dad was a gambler, he ran gambling in texas.... with bowling alleys as the front..in the back was the gambling

a few years later...i went to work in the oil patch in Texas for Major Arteburn Riddle, onetime mob frontman, vegas legend, owner of the dunes hotel, the silverbird, the thunderbird and several other casinos..Bugsy Siegal met Virginia Hill while she was on a date with Mr. Riddle in palm springs or maybe miami beach..i get foggy on that...Howard Hughes wanted Jean Peters to move to vegas with him..so he sent out his men to search for a suitable abode...the biggest house in Vegas..they bought Mr. Riddle's house. i heard the master bedroom was 2400 square feet but that might have been mere hyperbole... Jean Peters never moved in

Riddle introduced topless to vegas with the Minsky Burlesque revue it was a smash hit

Mr.Riddle told me he had lost over $1,000,000 playing the horses...in a poker game once...he lost a big chunk of the Dunes Hotel
When gambling, I always set an upper ceiling and a lower floor.

I never deviate from the set amounts!

Some say that takes the fun out of it. I say it is a good common sense approach!

"How much did you lose to win it?"

It got quiet.

She shared with them that she counted "winnings" as ....
...... the amount over what she lost, plus the expenses for the trip. I agree.

Gambling should be a "hobby" ...

.... just like playing with providers.
In the 80's i went to vegas on southwest airlines with a lady who's tennis team had won the right to go to nationals there

during the flight the flight attendant came on the mike and said..."we have just crossed into Nevada airspace..for those who wish to participate..we will pass around a barf bag...please write your seat number on a dollar bill and this 9 year old girl..(they had her standing up front)..will pull one out of the bag and whose ever it is... wins the bag..."

I watched as the bag went back and forth across the aisle... people were tossing in dollars .....all just folded double to lie listless and indistinct in the darkness of the bag

I guess my old dad's gambling genes kicked in...gamblers like to have an edge..its the edge that makes vegas casinos a winner

so i pulled out two of the most crisp bills i could find... i had gone to the bank before we left and had gotten a bunch of ones for tip purposes,,and i wrote her seat number on one and mine on the other..then i creased them long ways so they could stand up

when the bag got to me..i inserted our bills so that they were protruding up out of the other bills that were just laying there

the stewardess held the bag ..the little girl's hand reaches in and the first bill she touches she pulls out...the lady's i was with...we won $186..well $184 minus the two i inserted

I learned in the navy, that if you don't know who the stooge is by the 5th hand, it's you.
The odds are impossible to calculate since there are only 52 cards in a deck and your story line needs 56 if it was 7-card stud...................?

Unless Vegas rules were jokers are wild !

In a local $1-$3 game I was the small blind with 3-5 of clubs. There was a small raise and the button made it $30. I had $550 in front of me. Had started out with $300 and won a few hands. Decided to call because I felt that I could get a straight, flush and if small cards came could beat his big cards. Flop was Ace-2 of clubs and 7 of diamonds. Straight draw, flush draw, straight flush draw. I checked and The Villain bet $60. If I called this would put me at $460, still up plus I had a lot of draws. I felt that if he had a big Ace and a flush came I would win and if he was on a flush draw and no flush came I could bet him out of the hand on the river. The turn was the Jack of Spades. I checked and he checked, I now put him on the flush draw for sure. If a 4 of any suit came I was good. If no club came I was going to bet big. The river was the lovely 4 of Clubs. STRAIGHT FLUSH! I bet small like $25, he raised to $60, I re-raised to $120 and he re-re-raised all in. At this point he had $440. I called and he turned over the King-9 of Clubs and I turned over the straight flush. $1,000+ pot.

The hand was years ago but when I see this guy he still talks about that hand.

Second hand was in a local Pot Limit Omaha game. It was full of "action" players and I had been running o.k. On this one hand I had 10-9-9-8 with 9-8 suited. There were some raises and re-raises and it cost $40 to see the flop. Before the flop there was around $400 in the pot. Flop was Ace-9-2 rainbow. I had a set of 9s. People started betting and I got all my money in and was called by 3 other players. The pot was now just over $1,800.00 The board blanked out as everyone was on some type of draw and I scooped the largest pot I had ever won.

I have never lost big or more than I could afford without regrets.
Money management along with time management keeps you from losing big.

Best night ever was in Vegas. Playing craps, I had the fire bet.
Girl ws shooting the dice and had made every point but the four.

She rolled and her point was now four.
All she had to do was make the four and I would have put an extra grand in my pocket on a one dollar bet.
She went out and it paid a little over 250 plus all the money I had been winning.
Cashed in and left the table shortly there after.
Sat at the bar and picked up a pro and went to the room.
Probably the best night I have ever had in Vegas.Pocketed well over a grand AFTER settling up with the lady.

I win more often than not on the craps table.

Biggest disappointment in
Vegas was playing Keno.
I picked twenty numbers and did not hit a single one.
It paid 2 grand.....had the Keno runner gotten the bet in on time.
