Coming to Austin unexpectedly... should I stay in Downtown Austin or Central Austin?

Hi there! I have decided to add an unexpected stop in my tour by going over to Austin after leaving Killeen, on my way to San Angelo. I'm not sure if it's too late to get the word out, but I figure I'd like to ask before I select where I'm staying... I'm booking a room in the car as we speak lol. So, ladies and gents: Austin Central or Downtown Austin? Let me know what you think quickly... mile markers are ticking by. Thanks for the input.

North Austin is your best! bet Vagina Triangle® and surrounding area. Domain & Arboretum area.

central austin is downtown austin

Downtown Austin would be best, there are some nice hotels just south of the River on Congress. If you wanna see the "Real" Austin then that's where you would want to stay.
