The scammers research and pull all the needed info from facebook and identify an elderly lady with college age grandkids....
scammer calls and pretends to grandchild using excuse of a cold and long bad connection to say "Whats wrong Grandma? You don't recognize me?
scammer builds a story of grandchild in trouble,
" please don't tell mom or dad or grandpa... Please keep this between us....."
"Can you please help me by sending me some money by western union so I can get home/back to school/out of jail... etc,......"
Scammer uses familial names throughout the conversation including typical endearments i.e. "gammaw"," granny", etc...
Once again targetting the elderly and tugging at the protective heartstrings......
personally..... I've never got involved with any of the social networking sites for a variety of reasons and it has bothered me for years that my kids and grand kids are all over it....
Just an FYI prompted by Leopards Post....
