Reptile enthusiasts or breeders?

I'd like to get some kind of dragon, lizard or big frog. I've searched CL but there must be a dry spell or something right now because the pickings were slim.

Anyone here a breeder or know of someone?

I'd like something that can be handled often yet is not too dangerous since I hope my toddler will want to handle our future pet as well.

Thanks in advance!

I wish it was that easy. Hell, I'd even take a regular frog at this point.

It is that easy. I grew up catching reptiles for my teachers from elementary to high school. It just rained so your job is even easier right now. Hell if you want a frog I have them on my sidewalk every night of the week.

You just missed two of the better shows that come to the Houston area.

If I were you, I would plan on attending one of these shows and deal with a lot better selection and quality of vendors and enthusiasts than off Craigslist. You will be able to talk to experts, shop various supplies, and have a wide variety of choices to choose from.

DM loves lizards.
Ask her if she can give you one.

I had frogs before. They do require lots of attention.
Easiest one to have is the fire belly toads.

I'd say: don't get a chameleon; they require a semi-tropical or tropical environment with lots of rainfall; kinda hard to maintain.
Iguanas are fun, but they can get huge - up to 6ft long! . . . and, those tails hurt when ya get slapped by them; even with the smaller ones.

For a child, I'd recommend a bearded dragon. They are laid back with cute little quirks, and they tolerate being handled very well.

But, I don't know any breeders 'round here . . .
reminds me of that one james bond movie
