MJ & CZ's efforts are appreciated, but it's obvious that even the moderators weren't informed that a sw update that would effect the site's performance was coming. An owner who actually valued their customers (and moderators) might consider doing something like this:
- Inform those affected BEFORE the update so alternate arrangements can be made.
- Provide updates as the sw revision is going on.
- Find a way to make it up to the membership for the inconvenience the lengthy update caused.
Whatever the update ultimately accomplishes, the uncaring attitude of the site owners, even toward their own moderators, is again abundantly clear, and so is the ineptitude of their IT team.
