I send a pm, it says unread but the person has been on the site since I sent it. Am I missing something?

Just cause they been on the site doesn't mean they've accessed their messages . . .

????? If they decline the confirmation does it show up as unread??

A member can decline a read confirmation when opening the PM and can still read it.
I've done it and had it done to me.

Send a PM to yourself. If it shows unread, that may indicate possible self-loathing...

Seriously experiment by sending to yourself... A good indication if it is working on your end.
