Air Force Trainers at Lackland AFB Accused of Rape

Yes boys and girls it turns out that when you take a bunch of immature young guys who aren't really that smart and give them total control over the lives of young women in boot camp many of those guys are gonna take advantage.

Big surprise.

Living in San Antonio and knowing a lot of girls I've heard stories for years about how trainers and non-coms alike pressure the cute airmen [airwomen?] for sex. "It's all about who you fuck," is a line that I've heard over and over again.

So for all you patriotic flag waving anti-terrorist parents out there sooooo willing to see your daughters go into the hands of the US military THINK AGAIN!!!

Having grown up in San Antonio in a military family I can say without any reservation that MEN CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO COMMAND CUTE GIRLS.

Political correctness has caused all this and brought it about.

Rape and sexual crime is rampant in the US military and has been covered up for years.

The sexual tensions that exist when you take a bunch of below-average guys and put them in these positons is just stupid.

We need to return to the old values that we used to have and apply them to the military.

And a place to start is to withdraw tolerance for homosexuality in the military...just as a start. And then segregate the sexes the way it used to be.

COG would recommend shutting down the Air Force for at least four years, you would probably agree with him!
I disagree with the OP. The reason there is such a huge problem in the military with this is that the men and the higher ups view rape during training or otherwise as part of "just being in the military" instead of viewing it as actual assault that can damage a soldier for life. In addition these men have ignored it and punished the women and men who have been raped for years and years and have never been held accountable. So this has fostered this type of climate. It isn't just women who get raped in the military by the way, normal heterosexual males are raped as well.

This isn't a case of segregating women, that is just an asinine idea. You deal with it by going after the perpetrators no matter what their position is in the chain of command and prosecute them fully. You don't punish the victim.

Any guy who thinks we should segregate women again in the military is in my opinion a misogynistic idiot who clings to old outdated beliefs from the friggin 1950's about women and the military.

In addition, rape is not about sex, its about humiliation, its about power, its about violence and causing harm. So this isn't about some horny guy or guys just trying to get laid, this about men who are fucked up in the head and are hell bent on harming an individual and should be put in prison right along all the other sickos in prison.

Quote from news article:
Rape within the US military has become so widespread that it is estimated that a female soldier in Iraq is more likely to be attacked by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire. So great is the issue that a group of veterans are suing the Pentagon to force reform. The lawsuit, which includes three men and 25 women (the suit initially involved 17 plaintiffs but grew to 28) who claim to have been subjected to sexual assaults while serving in the armed forces, blames former defence secretaries Donald Rumsfeld and Robert Gates for a culture of punishment against the women and men who report sex crimes and a failure to prosecute the offenders.
Since the lawsuit became public in February, 400 more have come forward, contacting attorney Susan Burke who is leading the case. These are likely to be future lawsuits. Right now they are anxiously awaiting a court ruling to find out if the lawsuit will go to trial. The defense team for the department of defense has filed a motion to dismiss the case, citing a court ruling, dating back to 1950, which states that the government is not liable for injury sustained by active duty personnel. To date, military personnel have been unable to sue their employer.

Rape by a fellow serviceman also represents the most unfathomable betrayal to a soldier, according to Bhagwati. "You have to understand that from day one when you sign up, you are told that the people you work with are your family, that you will risk your life to save theirs. You live that uniform. It's who you are. And then, to be raped by one of your fellow servicemen? It's institutional misogyny."

Article on Rape and the psychology behind it
Don't forget they forfeit all air battles from the last four years.
The article I linked in my post about Rape talks about elderly women as old as in their late 90's and in wheel chairs or bed bound being raped and murdered. As well as other victims that have absolutely nothing to do with sex, or some type of sexual attraction. As it says toward the end its about torturing the helpless (in the case of the women in the military they are put in helpless situations).

"Rape and sexual harassment are not compliments doled out only to the beautiful and alluring. They are an extreme form of bullying, and they can, tragically, happen to anyone."

No, I am not talking about forceable rape. I'm talking about consentual sex. I knew one poor bastard banging away at a little private in a secluded room. Someone opened the door and find her on top stripped down to sexy lingerie. She was having the ride of her life until the door opened. She took about 5 seconds to start shouting rape. He didn't go to jail but he did lose two paygrades to her one. She gets hers back in six months and he needs five years to get his back.

It was my understanding that this was a case of possible rape and consentual sex. Rape because he may have used his position of authority to convince young women to submit.
Didn't they have a similar incident at a tail hook party a few years back?
In Iraq, the female soldiers were raped with such frequency after dark as a whole the women didn’t any liquids after about 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. in an environment with no A/C and 120 heat because going to the latrine was too dangerous and many women died of dehydration in their sleep. The army’s response was to not allow dehydration as a cause of death and not to mention that the deceased were women.

Why am I not shocked at some of the responses on this thread.

Maybe if we just called them all "homos" they'd learn their lesson.
