free photo software

does anyone have any recommendations?
i can find free ones to clean up pictures but i want to add backgrounds and layers and all of that fun stuff too! any recommendations?

Gimp is open source supposedly great capabilities similar to older versions of Photoshop.

I use Paint.net, but I know a lot of people who love Gimp, too.

Also, you can download an older version of Photoshop (CS2) for free from Adobe. https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitl...cs2_downloads#

Take a look at Olympus Viewer. It is free, just tell them you have an olympus camera. A lot of special stuff.

There are many different software to edit photos on the market.

Some are free, but very rudimentary and others are more functional, but more expensive.

. . . I think that for this application, Photoshop is still the standard and the price is more reasonable now.
