Republicans are in self destruction mode.

It was DEFINITELY trump that Cheney fell out of favor with. Jesus Christ. She dared to speak out against dear leader and hold him accountable for some of his many crimes. Then the trump propaganda spin machine went into overdrive and made it out like she was the RINO lol.

Most conservative voters today frighten easily and will do whatever trump tells them to do. Hence, they voted her out.

Anyway, go ask Corker, Romney, Buck, Gallagher, etc. None of them were voted out; they quit.

Today's GOP is a pathetic shell of itself under this clown, and REAL Republicans everywhere are stepping away. It's now the MAGA cult party. There are no real Republicans left in power.

Your grasp on how a representative republic functions appears to be less than firm.
Everybody I mentioned, except Cheney, quit. They were not voted out. They quit. Because they're not allowed to anger dear leader by having their own opinion. Period.

LMAO! They quit because they lost the support of their constituents and didn’t want to be embarrassed in a primary like Cheney. They went against the people they supposedly represented and paid the price. They fucked around and found out, in current vernacular.

Marching in lockstep has always been a Republican thing. In fact, it's often been a problem for Democrats - not being able to all land on the same page.

On the other hand, Republicans have disagreed with party leadership on a multitude of issues over the years. You still see it today. That is democracy in action

If you act and vote against the wishes of the people who put you in office, those people being pissed off is perfectly reasonable. In fact, that’s how it’s supposed to work. Do that too often and those same people will toss your ass out of office, or make their desire to do so obvious enough that you’re forced to preemptively quit to avoid an embarrassing electoral ~bloodbath~ like Cheney.

These are good things, a step in the direction of politicians actually living up to what they campaigned on. If it damages a political party in the process, so be it.
... Agreed... and if THAT is what it takes to get TRUE Republicans
with a backbone elected - then the cause is worthe-while.

Look at Tim Scott and lindsey in SC. Neither have the balls to go against trump. Same with little Florida wimp in senate with little hands as per trump

By backbone you mean willing to vote/act against the desires of those who elected them. That’s not backbone, it’s poor representation.
