That's right, dear friends....its time once more to come out of sports hibernation.....NFL Training Camps officially open TODAY!!!
Well, at least one franchise does (Green Bay Packers report today).....the other 31 teams will do so over the next few days.....preseason games (yeah, I know) will kickoff in another two-plus weeks.
Per their recent tradition, the Cowboys will vacate the miserable North Texas heat and enjoy a more comfortable venue out in Oxnard, Ca come end of this week (July 30th).
Their first preseason game will be versus the (once more) Los Angeles Rams, as they unveil their prized number one draft pick, QB Jarod Goff.....guess we'll see soon enough if he was worth trading so much for (if you'll recall, the Rams gave the Tennessee Titans a truckload of draft selections.....as did Philly with Cleveland, trading up to the second spot to grab QB Carson Wentz).
Dallas will also have a shiny new toy to play with, as well.....the fourth pick in the draft, RB Ezekiel Elliot (Ohio State). Behind the superb Cowboys' O line, he could be something special. We'll see,,,,,
Nothing special about this early forecast....simply put, if Dallas can avoid season-ending injuries (ie: Romo...Dez), Da Boys could vie for the NFC East once again in (what most experts feel) is a pretty crappy division.
O' course.....if the queen had balls, she'd be king, right....

Dead spot on the sports calendar until NBA training camps open in about two months. I wouldn't watch the SuperBowl if they were playing it in my back yard. Football is way too slow. It takes three hours to watch about 30 minutes of plays.
