Here's something you don't see every day

On my way to downtown New Orleans late last night (1 AM), I ran into a traffic jam on the causeway bridge........ I was stopped at mile marker 16.4. As the few cars on the bridge were crawling at 10 miles an hour, we saw what the heck it was!
Obviously I was parked to take a clear photo of the mile marker!

And THIS is what caused the traffic jam! Its difficult to see because we were finally moving......

It was a caravan of MARDI GRAS FLOATS!
Oh how I miss Mardi Gras! Could you send me a King Cake pretty please?

Oh man, the best Kingcakes ever were from Ruth's Cakery in Bay St. Louis. I tried many of the best, and her's was absolutely the best. Sadly, the Cakery didn't survive Katrina, and Ruth developed cancer shortly after.

Memories.
