Which casino in the area would you consider better than the rest. I will be heading that way to visit some of your casinos and have some fun. Also looking for the best tacos in town.
I would say Lakeside Casino in Osceola

Thank you
Prairie Meadows probably has nicer rooms and more things to do than other casinos in the middle of Iowa.
If you are looking for fun on top of casinos not sure Osceola is your best option. Have only been there a few times but it's not that busy other than maybe a weekend night. stick to the more populated areas. Altoona, Waterloo, Quad Cities etc.
Tacos - Des Moines Staple is tasty tacos- many love it but it’s a different style, Flame Taqureia in Johnston is very good. Many will argue about best tacos.. Tacos La Famila north of downtown on 6th Ave is more authentic Mexican - nicest part of town no but your from KC you get it.. go to the Dot and they have great tacos or anywhere of the Ave in NE KC . You all need to see her in DM. My friends in KC love this woman so treat her right Iowa boys
Riverside Casino near Coralville/Iowa City is nice. Not much to do per se in Riverside, but it's a short drive to Iowa City

Hard to find a local joint (or taco truck, for that matter) that serves authentic tacos al Pastor carved from a trompo. But for just good ol' fine local (non-chain) Mexican eating w/o the phone vibe, I'd suggest 2 places:

Tacos Mariana's: 1305 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50314
Los Laureles: 1518 E Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50316

Both are smallish, bilingual, and their lettuce is chilled and crisp, and they deliver great salsa with chips as soon as you're seated. Not so busy either to require a wait. For either an early 11:00 lunch or a 5:00 o'clock dinner. A great local quiet delicious meal. Thoroughly satisfactory.
