Who would have thought the Cowboys would score more points in the 4th Qtr than they did the whole rest of the game? It was interesting (and painful at times) to watch.

Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor, all played overmatched teams Saturday and all won.

Actually surprised at the Rice vs Texas game. The each had 2 quarters were one team scored points and the other team walked away with zeros. (All of Rice's points came in 2nd and 4th Qtrs, while all of Texas' points came in 1st and 3rd.) But, Texas was happy to break a 3 game losing streak at home.

Baylor is 5th in AP, Texas A&M at 17th and Texas has received no votes.

Baylor is resting this weekend. They play Rice on the 26th, so nothing exciting there. The Baylor vs Texas Tech game in Lubbock on 3 Oct, should be a good game.

Texas A&M plays the Nevada Wolf Pack Saturday in Kyle field. I expect it will look a lot like the last game (A&M is a 34 point favorite). Texas A&M plays Arkansas Razorbacks on the 26th of September. That will be an exciting and rowdy game.

Texas hosts the California Bears this weekend. California is a 6.5 point favorite, at the moment. Texas is going to be pressed to keep their juice going into this game. Aside from the QB scrambling, their offense couldn't get a thing going on the ground. Their defense showed some real weakness in the second half.

So, of the 3 college teams anyone has mentioned. the Texas vs California game holds the most promise for extreme excitement or disappointment.

Fortunately, the games are 7 hours apart, so you can watch both the Aggies win and the Longhorns struggle.

Just my opinions, guys.

Well, Texas A&M vs Arkansas is in Dallas, not in College Station. So I guess the Aggies are hosts, but not a home game officially. Not sure of the fan mix.

I doubt Texas is going to have a good year. Maybe 5 wins. If they are lucky, 6. A down year for UT. Again....

Baylor. Once they get to conference play they might have some real opponents. (Unfortunately this year that list of real opponents will not include UT.)

Just re-read the OP.

My predictions: Aggies win 9 pre bowl. Maybe 10 with some luck. Who knows about the bowl game? Outside chance of BCS.

UT wins 5 pre bowl. Another down year for UT. (And 5 post bowl as well, since they will not see a bowl game this year.)

Baylor? They win 9 or 10, partly because they have no out-of-conference games of note. Only challenge is in-conference. No love in BCS b/c of weak non-conference schedule.

Rice? Ha!

UH? Ha! But liked what they did to Louisville.

Texas Tech? Actually, might do OK, but who cares???????

Well, as predicted, A&M won easily and Texas struggled. Texas lost to California by a missed field goal late in the 4th.

Arkansas got its ass handed to them in Fayetteville by Tx Tech and the most interesting game of the day (currently in 3rd Qtr ) has #15 Ole Miss outscoring #2 Alabama 27-10, halfway through the 3d Qtr.
TAMU should beat most of their SEC competition with the improved defense. Best Aggie team in years I think less Manzel.

This Saturday:

#14 A&M is favored over unranked Arkansas
# 5 Baylor is favored over unranked Rice
# 3 TCU is favored over unranked Tx Tech
#24 Oklahoma State is favored over unranked Texas

I suspect the most interesting game on Saturday will be Tx Tech vs TCU. (While TCU is currently a 9.5 point favorite, Tech is hosting the game. Jones Stadium is loud and the air is thin, at 3,256 feet above sea level. You never know what will happen when you play Tech at home. This weekend, Tech played well against Arkansas and TCU played not so well against SMU).

I will be switching that game over at 6 pm to watch Tx A&M play visitor to Arkansas on ESPN (in Arlington Stadium, which has artificial turf and holds over 17,500 fewer fan seats than Kyle Field).

As far as the rest of the Aggie season:

Texas A&M will host Mississippi St on 3 Oct, followed by a week of rest
On 17 October, they come back to host Alabama
Following that is Ole Miss on the road on 24 October
The Aggies then host South Carolina on Halloween.

Gig em!
