I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find previous threads. Sometimes I see posts or tweets from providers I've seen, thanking a regular for a special treat -- a meal and a show, a particularly lovely gift, a weekend [working] getaway in Bermuda, etc. (I just saw a provider in DC, who I've seen twice at about $400/hr, acknowledge a $2,000 jacket she got as a gift!) I get it, and that's wonderful for all involved. And it's clear that the regular and the provider click and that sessions together are really nice.
But I hobby only when I travel, and only behind-closed-doors. Sometimes I go to the same city once every month for a year, sometimes I'm only in a city once every year or two, sometimes I'm only there once. I've had a few times when I've seen a provider more than once or twice, but mostly I'm seeing someone only once, for an hour or two, no matter how well we click. Or it might be a year or more before I see the provider a second time. I try to be a good hobbyist -- respectful, on time, clean, etc. I often bring a small gift -- flowers, a book, chocolate, drinks, depends on the situation. But I'm clearly not anyone's recurring source of income :-).
So my question is: For those of you providers who have regulars, what do you like from the hobbyists who only see you once or twice? How can a one-time visitor help make the session especially nice (whatever your mutual definition of "nice" is), in the way that you enjoy with a regular?
Or am I just over-thinking this?
