Question about Guidelines #9

TehRyc's Avatar
In looking through some drama in other Cities I noticed an interesting situation.
An out of towner came in and stated he had a less than satisfactory back and forth with a provider.

Provider responded with some pretty belligerent claims about the John harassing her through PMs for MONTHS even though he had just recently decided to visit the city. Back and forth ensued along with more claims that "he keeps sending me messages begging me to see him."

So that got me thinking...

I know the guidelines say:

#9 - No form of private communications between members are to be posted in our forums. This includes the contents of emails, PMs, IMs, private chat logs, privately shared images, etc. This is an invasion of another's privacy and will not be allowed.
What if I am the monger and state that "If she has proof I have no problem with her posting my personal PMs"

Is it still against the rules if i publicly state that I will allow this person to post any type of proof they have (since i would know they are making it up)?

And while we are on the topic what if in the process of trying to prove that fallacy, I am getting semi harassing PMs that don't contain personal info but can possibly be use to prove that an account is admitting to "said" fallacy!

The posting of private communications, even with the other party's consent, is against the guidelines.

If you are getting harassing or spam PMs, you can report them to staff using the Report Post button while viewing the message.

To the OP, each party can post their own portions of the communications just not eachother's. So technically she could post the PMs/texts with your parts blacked out and you could post your parts with hers blacked out.

That's about as much as we will allow.

Thanks for the clarification.

Is it within the rules to convert the private messages to Pig Latin?

"Ouyay lakedfay onhay mehay, itchbay!"
