Reviews? Believable or bogus?

OK now it's time for me to address a question I have had for quite some time now....
And don’t be surprised if you some of you see me posting this same question elsewhere……….lol
I am a nebby one.

Reviews.

Do you gentlemen believe them?
Are they a valuable source of information for you, the clients to decide which provider is worthy of your time, attention and money?

Or, are they merely penthouse stories written only to appease the ego of the writers?

In my time on these boards I've heard them described as both.
I know on some sites you gentlemen can only obtain access to the gents areas by writing and posting reviews, while on other sites it's not necessary to write any to obtain access to the “secret” areas. I’ve even heard of a site that will only post reviews that are raving about the ladies performance and will not post less than positive reviews….
This may lead some to believe that reviews are not always a true reflection of the time spent together but only written as a way to get/maintain access.

And, we all have seen that there are some hobbyists who have a plethora of reviews they’ve written while some other equally prolific hobbyists have zero reviews.
This doesn’t diminish the value of the information both hobbyists may have to share via backchannel or gentlemens area only, but does it make you question the validity of the information they choose to share in their reviews…?

Or does a hobbyist with many many reviews throw up a red flag of sorts? Does it make you question the information he provides? Does it get to a point wherein you think he’s just bragging?

Further, some sites allow the providers to read and sometimes respond to reviews while other sites keep the details private and available for the gentlemen of the site or “Fully paid up” members only.
Mind you, on a few sites these “paid up” members do not hobby, they have only paid the fee.

Now on the sites which allow full viewing by all parties involved would you think that the review was written in a way which will reflect what occurred but written in a way so as not to insult the provider?
In other words…….
In your opinion, are the reviews more honest when ladies cannot view or respond to them?

I’m just curious and have been for a while, because I hear a lot of guys who on one hand complain about a lack of reviews on a particular girl(s) or agency yet some of these same hobbyists find reviews available on some gals and then they post that the reviews are not very reliable or even to be believed…..

Hard to know what to think.

So if you don’t mind indulging me a bit tell me what you think.
Are reviews overrated or not?

Do you rely on them or only use them as a starting point to decide if you want to spend time with the lady being reviewed?

Thank you for your time, for those of you who are still with me……
I do appreciate it.

highly over rated imho..........

now reviews are good for one thing and thats letting guys know if the lady is not what she appears to be or might have some major baggage of some sort

one persons 10 may be another 2 so although I scan reviews, I never base my decision on them
I rely on the opinions of the guys I know well who have seen the lady already

but then again, what the hell do I know

I'm not interested in stroke material, I'm mainly looking to see 1) that it's from a trusted reviewer 2) what activities are available and 3) is it the girl in the pics, etc. the actual blow-by-bow copy doesn't interest me much.

I have a hard time believing one or two but if there are many I can see if she's good or bad

Although I still read them for the most part I am not really interested in knowing how many times he thinks he got her off during the session-that's where the BS comes in. There are some very entertaining "NO" reviews I wish that providers were able to comment and rebut them to increase the entertainment value.....

Another thought on the subject. Here's a line I used as a sig for my posts for a while, but this pretty much sums up why I read reviews, and pay attention to some posters more than others:

When that motel room door opens and its not a tranny and not a cop I consider myself ahead of he game. Originally Posted by An Anonymous ECCIE User in partial response to why he gave a "yes" recommendation to a provider for a lackluster session

The biggest thing reviews show are trends. If a girl is well reviewed, has a trend of positive feedback and seemingly consistent BCD menu, then it tells me I'm likely to have a good time. The individual ROS reviews are too subjective when describing the actual performance, we all like different things. Ten guys can rave about one provider's BBBJ, but I might think it's not that amazing, because another provider does something I really like. So most of ROS is fairly useless penthouse material, if taken at face value.

However if the negative is about tardiness, NCNS, hygiene, safety, etc... that would make a difference. Some guys don't like if a provider smokes before sessions, things like that. Also since this hobby isn't exactly socially acceptable and legal, there's a benefit to knowing she hasn't fallen off the face of the earth. If her latest reviews are somewhat recent and positive she's probably still following the program. I.e. hasn't just been arrested, isn't strung out on something, isn't out robbing johns, etc...
For once in my life, I believe that Richard Nixon has spoken the truth.

Is this a rhetorical question?
In réponse to the title of the thread, I think it depends on the reviewer's ability if it sounds believable or bogus. The value reviews have is a separate issue.

I think reviews have value & are important. Now if it's a bogus review, the value isn't for my hobbying, but lets me know how to spot a fake review, and to question the provider and/or hobbyist.

If it's a legit review, I value all the info I can get. ECCIE reviews are somewhat different than others in that they list services received separate from the ROS. That is helpful in that I want to know about services. But it doesn't have to read like a porn novel. Saying BJ/CIM is just as clear as "Slowly her tongue tickled my shaft until I exploded all over her face." For those who like to write like that, that's their choice. As long as I can find the info I need somewhere, the style of writing does't matter.

I don't like the "no kiss & tell" reviews. To just say she's fun, safe, attractive, clean, etc., doesn't really help me much. I expect those things as a base (although attractiveness is subjective). A review telling me she's not those things is helpful, but informing me of what I walk in expecting doesn't do much.

So I use the reviews to see if a provider has the attitude & openness that I'm looking for. Some don't put details on their websites, some hobbyist won't share info backchannel, and now some reviews are "no details" reviews. Those explicit reviews, whether Penthouse style, or straight to the point, help me in making a decision.

There is a girl that I saw, had a good time with and wrote an honest review. A couple of days later, I saw another review of her, that sounded tgtbt. Later that week, I saw her again, and she asked me about reviews. She had been told about the tgtbt review, and said that a good part of it was BS.
When I write one, I try to write erotica, not porn.

I appreciate other guys reviews! Yes there are those that are nonsense. Doesn't take long to spot them. I have written a few in my time and for the most part there is a very common theme with few exceptions. Mostly I let the pictures I take of these lovely ladies do the talking and guys can make up their own minds.

I don't much appreciate guys sitting on their fat asses and beating up on newbies in the review section. A newbie today will save your ass tomorrow.

Then there are those (Insert Your Favorite Asshole) that have ZERO reviews or hardy any reviews but cruise the site bestowing their wisdom because they have done it all.

People (hobbyists) are here for different reasons and I for one appreciate those that contribute!
I find that ALL reviews are true and accurate (except the ones written by pimps...and managers....and white knights....and the hookers themselves).

Besides, I read somewhere that you can't put anything on the Internet unless it's true.....

I look at reviews at the same way I look at provider showcases...

some are just silly and serve no purpose...
Some are just full of crap and BS...
Some are just so so or are out of date...
Some are dead on and give you a real picture of the provider...
