Closure

I know nobody will really care but I am saying goodbye to this "hobby". I discovered it 6 months ago, or so, and quite frankly, it just didn't turn out to be what I had envisioned.
With the exception of two ladies, both of whom do not live in my city, the experience has left me mostly disappointed in the ladies and sometimes disgusted with myself.
You two know who you are, and I thank you. Just wish you were closer and maybe I'd have different feelings.
To those of you who never took the time to listen or act with an ounce of professionalism and pride, adios. Meeting you was my loss.

One thing I have enjoyed is the discussion on this site with lots of pseudonymic folks (if that is a word). Sure as hell can't talk about this stuff at cocktail parties, or even with the boys at the bar.

I hope I am strong enough to stay away. For those of you who enjoy this "hobby", I am happy for you. Happy hunting to all. Stay safe and thanks for the memories.

Well ......HMMMMMMMM when you get second thoughts which you will i will be willing and ready this is an awesome place, take a day or so vent and then lets hook up.
I've always enjoyed having you in the forums baby...I am so sorry it didn't work out for you. It looks as though you ran into a bad batch. Perhaps you will be happy if you went with quality over quintity. Go ahead and still see the two out of town when you can...no reason to give them up. And you are always more then welcome to hang around here and converse with us perverts!

Good luck in whatever you decide. I really hope things get better for you.

The hobby ain't for everyone. Best of luck in all you do.

And even if you're not playing for pay, you're still welcome to hang around here.

Cheers,

bcg
If you really do want to get away from the hobby, then the most important thing you can do is to stay away from here. Nothing will draw you back like reading reviews and looking at pictures. Good luck to you.

As for your comment above, I couldn't agree more

I know where he is coming from. I, too, am becoming disenchanted with the hobby. A lot of it has to do with the lack of quality local providers. I live in an area where there is a dearth of providers. There are several providers who live 90 min to 2 hours away, but it is a huge hassle to try and coordinate schedules and accommodations. Getting a room as well as donation rates quickly adds up. I use to hobby exclusively when out of town, but my business travel has essentially dried up. If I want to hobby, it has to be local or with providers who can travel to my location. Hobby life would be much easier if I were in Atlanta or Dallas or Orlando or just about any major metropolitan area.
Best of luck. Heed the advice of these two:

Bluffcityguy and Shackleton.

I can relate.
I often ask myself, what am I doing here?
It's easy to become disillusioned in a "pretend" world such as this.

To enjoy yourself here, you either have to let go of your humanity to a degree or simply enjoy the illusion and fantasy for what it is. If you think too much about it or get exposed to the ugly side, suddenly it doesn't have the same appeal.
is good to find

Also, you jumped into the "another realm" forum which isn't the place for folks who don't have at least a little experience with "this" in some form or another. So that in itself can be a little tough to grasp ... it even is for me at times.

I guess the bottom line to my rattling is this. Even seasoned "pros" get flustered (ask anyone who knows me about my last two weeks) and wonder to themselves, "What in the hell am I doing here"? But it's ultimately up to you as to what to do that makes you most comfortable with your decisions.

If you do leave, you have my best. If you stay ... I'll offer you my worst. (That was a joke, btw!)

Take care, either way.

Sincerely,
Elisabeth

Good luck to you. It's always possible to join the ranks of those who came back, should you change your mind.
