Video in Advertising

I have noticed several providers linking personal videos in their ads. I think this gives an extra dimension for the hobbyist to see and learn more of the provider rather than just pictures.

I am wondering from the hobbyist point of view: Would you like to see more providers link personal video to their ads or websites?

From the provider aspect: Why wouldn't you link video to your ads or websites?

i love the video Idea!! I've been using it for sometime now!!
Funny this is posted- today I'm having a girlfriend take some clips of me for a short video/photo montage promo I have in mind.

Video editing is a huge PAIN. It takes so much longer than editing pictures, and advertising video can be the hardest of all (I am already anticipating finding the best 20-30 seconds out of probably atleast an hour's worth of footage...). I also think that there aren't very many user-friendly, free (and otherwise accessible) video editing tools (unlike image editors including Picasa and Photoscape). The new version of Windows Movie maker BITES.

To answer the question- I wouldn't post something that I wouldn't link. Since video is harder to get "perfect" than pictures, I'm not sure if I will post what I make tonight- it might just be a "test run". If I edit it so it looks like the vision in my head and adds to the image I want to portray, I'll upload to my site, post a blog, embed it... and announce on Twitter.

I think sometimes video is not considered very classy and is looked upon with suspicion like Twitter and other social media presences are... but like any tool, it's how you use it and what you create with it. It's just harder to create quality with video (IMHO).

Personally it doesn't do much for me. Nice clean photos are enough.

One must is it shouldn't be autoload. Even if we are in are private location if we don't want to view/listen to it, it is an annoyance to close.

Porn is always good.

It doesn't need to be porn. Penelope of Ohio has a wonderful, wonderful video link on her website. It is as tame as a Victoria's Secret commercial, but the video is extremely well done. The video is one reason Penelope is on my short list next time I'm in Ohio.

I think more providers should consider this as part of their website or ads. A picture may be like a 1,000 words, but video is pure gold if done properly.

I did not thinck there were any providers in Ohio since that is a pretty dead forum.
Just wanted to update, that after alot of tries with different ideas, I did finally make a video clip that I am proud of:

Not counting the first few attempts, this took 1 hour of shooting, 2 hours of editing... all for about 1 minute of promo material. I don't recommend it if you have ADHD
Very nice Rachel! Tasteful and seductive.
