Poetic prose "verses" just the facts

Which do you prefer? The last category is rest of story. Still others just want the pertinent information. I have to write reports. But I take pride in capturing the scene.

Is this just textual masturbation.

As to your question - if you can write that well, then write it. But if you have to ask, then probably not so much. Less is often more.
Writing a review, I tend to go with the prose. Which is a lot of personal opinion and not totally fair to the reader trying to make a difficult hobby decision. I like blondes, so in my opinion, a 7 blonde is more attractive than an 8 brunette. Redheads have a totally different scale. The reader is responsible for separating fact from opinion. I have received excellent advice for adding pauses that separate like an "honesty alert". In the end, write what you feel. Be open to constructive criticism.

The facts are good enough for me. I rarely read long reviews, just the basic facts so we can make an informed decision if the provider fits our wants.

Did you mean "verses" or versus?

Yes, pun intended.
