Welcome to 2024, where it is more beneficial to be an illegal immigrant in the United States than a U.S.-born, hard-working, law-abiding citizen.
Tyson Foods is facing criticism and calls to be boycotted over the company reportedly firing its employees and hiring illegal immigrants in their place.

According to Bloomberg, just days after Tyson Foods’s Perry, Iowa location fired more than 1,200 American workers, the company announced that it has partnered with a non-profit refugee group, Tent Partnership for Refugees, hiring thousands of asylum seekers instead.

The food company reportedly recently had a job fair in Iowa for immigrants to attend as American workers remain without paychecks. Tyson Foods also created a database of tens of thousands of illegal alien workers that they plan to replace American workers with, offering $16.50-an-hour wages and free immigration lawyers.

Tyson recently hired tens of dozens of illegal immigrants from Venezuela, Mexico, and Colombia during a job fair in New York City.

“It is ILLEGAL under federal law to discriminate against American citizens based on their citizenship in favor of non-citizens of any kind when it comes to employment,” America First Legal said, adding that Tyson is breaking the law by favoring illegal immigrant workers over Americans.

The outlet also noted that the company has not only set millions of dollars aside for the immigrant’s legal fees, but will also provide housing, on-site child care, transportation, and paid time off to attend court hearings.

Tyson’s CEO Donnie King, who makes up to $13 million a year, has funded the campaigns of President Joe Biden, Nikki Haley, and others, according to Open Secrets.

The company already has about 42,000 immigrants working for them among its 120,000 U.S. workforce.

“We would like to employ another 42,000 if we could find them,” Tyson employee Garrett Dolan, told the outlet. The majority of new hires “Are going to come from refugees and immigrants, so we're now in the business of strategically thinking that through.”

In 2022, the company hired 2,500 refugees under the Tent program.

Burn the place to the ground.
Sounds like a "legal employment"of prisoners of large German industries during WW 2 ! Are these new workers get Workm. Comp. and pensions ? Sound like the companies that set up in town stores, bars, etc, for their workers.

I also don't see any mention of the bipartisan border bill that both sides agreed to but trump told Mike Johnson to "kill it" just to make Biden look bad. Senator Lankford will be glad to explain it to you.

I agree with The Dr. to get back on topic…

Why do Libs immediately go back to blaming Trump when the topic is the current illegal immigration process that has not only allowed companies like Tyson to hire these folks, but fail to realize that this has all happened under Brandon’s watch. None of this would be happening if Trump was still Prez. That’s just a fact.

To you Libs, instead of referencing back to Trump, how about a sincere argument why we’re allowing millions of folks into this country with a zero vetting process. Or better yet, make a point of why you feel it’s ok for a company like Tyson to be engaging in a massive hiring of this group of illegals?

1. Scripps News has retracted the original story.

2. Tyson issued a statement on its webpage:

“In recent days, there has been a lot of misinformation in the media about our company, and we feel compelled to set the record straight. Tyson Foods is strongly opposed to illegal immigration, and we led the way in participating in the two major government programs to help employers combat unlawful employment, E-Verify and the Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program.

Since being founded in 1935 in Arkansas, Tyson Foods has created jobs and employed millions of people in states all across America. Today, Tyson Foods employs 120,000 team members in the U.S., all of whom are required to be legally authorized to work in this country. We have a history of strong hiring practices, and anybody who is legally able is welcome to apply to open job listings. “

3. Who buys any of that crapola anyway? Mostly frozen garbage….

4. Neither party will ever fix the border issues, because it is a profit center for fund raising for both of them

Scripps News has retracted a story headlined “Tyson Foods wants to hire 52,000 asylum seekers for factory jobs” because it contains serious factual inaccuracies.

The original, retracted story claimed that the food processing company “wants to hire 52,000 asylum seekers for factory jobs,” but we are unable to verify that number. In a statement, Tyson Foods says its employees are all “required to be legally authorized to work in this country.”

The company is working with the non-profit group Tent Partnership for Refugees, which seeks to help refugees and migrants integrate into the economy. In 2022, Tyson committed to hiring 2,500 refugees over three years through its partnership with Tent.

Employment of undocumented immigrants

Tyson Foods was indicted on December 9, 2001, along with six employees, on charges that it conspired to smuggle undocumented immigrants across the Mexican border to work in its processing plants. The 36-count indictment, which was unsealed at Federal District Court in Chattanooga, Tennessee, accused Tyson of arranging to transport undocumented workers across the border and helping them to get counterfeit work papers for jobs at 15 Tyson plants. Prosecutors alleged that the conspiracy to import workers dated back to 1994. Of the six managers who were indicted, two accepted plea bargain deals, and one committed suicide a few months after being charged. In March 2003, a federal jury acquitted Tyson and its managers of having hired illegal immigrants as part of a conspiracy.[109][110][111][112]

In October 2006, a federal judge granted class-action status to a lawsuit brought by Tyson employees who allege that Tyson's practice of hiring illegal immigrants depresses wages 10–30%. The suit further contends that the company violated federal racketeering laws by conspiring with National Council of La Raza and League of United Latin American Countries not to question the employment applications of anyone with a Hispanic surname.[113][114][115]

They are a corporation. I don’t really believe much of what any corporate propaganda says. But, they did issue the statement.

I still think the border issue will never be fixed by either party……they will lose too much donation money if the issue goes away.

Doing a web search, I don’t see any legal cases against Tyson over immigration in 20 years or so. And the only one I found, Tyson was acquitted, back in 2001.

I’d be interested if you had any legal cases to show Tyson violated the law, as opposed to political opinions.

This whole thing is a manufactured political talking point. And, yes, the left is as guilty as the right about making up false political narratives.

And Americans generally are stupid enough to fall for those narratives.

Also here is a good video with a discussion of Tyson and the current immigration flap:

https://wiscnews.com/tyson-uses-migr...eb3e145eb.html

The whole process of “boycotting “ is self defeating anyway. If a boycott puts a company out of business, all it did was cost people jobs. That’s a no win situation for everyone. And, personally speaking, I buy what I want……not what some political oriented group, or politician, tells me to.
