banned

So I would like to know the terms to get banned ? I see some people who seem to get banned for a simple reason or what have you, but then others who do something worse or whatever still gets to post there nasty ass responses and all bragging about having AIDS and spreading it to the girls here on the board.

So question is what good terms to getting banned.
I would have thought if something maybe threating peoples lives and all would be but hey what do I know, I guess like he says like magic Johnson hes fine.
I am not sure about this instance, but sometimes it is simply because nobody has reported the idiot to the mods. They are unpaid volunteers who do not have time to read all of the drama on the forums, so they will often miss these things if nobody tells them.

We don't discuss specific cases, but banning is always used as a last resort.

We start with a PM or a system warning, depending on the offense. If that doesn't change the person's behavior, for their next violation of the forum guidelines we give an infraction (each infraction has a point value associated with it). After a user accumulates too many points, the system automatically bans them for 90 days. We also can explicitly ban a user for a number of days for various reasons.

All warnings, infractions, and bans are recorded by the system and can be reviewed by the site admins and other moderators. If a member feels that they were treated unfairly, they can appeal to the site admins or owners.

Thanks!

Only infractions earn you points.

I suspect it's like ASPD.

There is a point system. Earn a certain number of points in a certain time and you're banned.

I'm sure there's an instant ban function for spammers, previously banned members, or other severe problems such as threats.

There's some judgment involved. Innocent mistakes probably get a warning without points, or a simple correction without any acrimony.

Those who convince the mods they're not going to repeat or cause problems in the future get cut more slack.

You'll rarely get points or a ban without some sort of warning. The mods usually won't point someone who wasn't deliberately ignoring the rules or looking for trouble.

Contrary to popular opinion, the mods don't get their jollies from banning people. Unless you're a true asshole who is hurting people, they really don't care that much about your childish antics, they just want things to run smoothly.
Hmmm, interesting.
