Posting Pics

Ok I want to know how to post pics in reviews and in normal threads/posts. I was told you have to include the URL and put it in between [img] picture url here [img] and it will work.

Now the only problem is I don't know what the hell a URL is lol. I can't just drag and drop it. I can't just copy and paste it. I have some save in a file in my documents but I can't get any of them to work. Do I n eed to save some of them in an online image hosting thing or whatever that is in order to do what I want?

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.

A URL is a web link to the pic. You can't get a URL from a pic on your hard drive. You have to create an account on a free photo hosting site like www.villagephotos.com (that doesn't have strict policies against nudity etc...) though there are other similar sites. This is just the one I have used over the years. After you upload the photos the web photo hosting site will provide you with URLs for each photo you upload that you can then use to insert between the IMG tags when posting here. -rak
Very good advice. another image hosting site is http://www.imageevent.com

it doesn't have nudity restrictions on hosting pics/vids...etc

The image you want to include using this method must reside on a web page.

Enter this...

[IMG]URL of Image[/IMG]

For example...

This...

[IMG]http://village.photos/images/user/84599f13-b9f1-45fe-a3ca-fcf52a6e0ea0/88cda3cf-cce0-48f1-8c09-713252c37885.JPG[/IMG]

Will produce this...

Nothing to it.

If I find one on a web page do I have to save it before I can find a URL to it such as backpage pics?

If you have a URL to the image it does not have to be saved on your computer unless you want your own copy of it.
I have tried the instructions above several times and when I preview my post there is no picture in the preview and just a small empty box in the editing panel. I have also tried the little yellow image posting tool above the editing panel with similar results. I uploaded the desired image into my Google photo album so I think that's not the problem. Copied pasted the URL etc. I hesitated to "Post Reply" since I know I can't delete it and didn't want the erroneous post up if the photo wasn't displayed. Can you see the posted image when you just "Preview Post"? If so, I don't know where I'm going wrong. Any help appreciated.

BTW Mokoa- The Osprey in your example above is made in my hometown where I live. See them flying around all the time here. They are LOUD!
I was trying to copy a picture from a showcase to paste in a review but no luck. Is this possible?

you can't right click on showcases anymore apparently. If there is already a pic anywhere on the web you can right click on the pic and go to view image then right click on the address bar and go to copy and then you can post it here but some sites where the pics are don't allow this so if you do it the pics wouldn't show up

Try this one...

PIXresizer

It is very easy to use.
It can also convert image formats.
It is free!
As far as other image hosting place....flickr.com. It will allow 200 photos for a free account, and it easy to use, and faster than photobucket as well.
