Amanda Bynes - Nuttier Than a Fruitcake?

Don't know if anyone has been following the Amanda Bynes saga the last few months, but it appears to have come to a head. The other day she apparently lit a gasoline fire on a random strangers home driveway and caught herself and her little pooch on fire. She was wearing some kind of crazy platinum blonde Lady Godiva wig and sunglasses. Afterwards she took her dog into a liquor store and tried to wash the gas off of it before being thrown out of the liquor store. Cops arrived and took her into custody on a 5150 charge which is a 72 hour mental evaluation code.

All these Amanda stories show up on my Yahoo home page, so I have somewhat been picking up on her increasingly bizarre behavior, but generally thought she was just another one of those spoiled Hollywood kids prone to fucking up. I did a little searching on her antics and came up with some interesting media.

So, after careful consideration, I don't think this is some kind of extended publicity stunt. Sounds pretty much like Schizophrenia to me. When I was a kid, my next door neighbor who was my age became schizophrenic and started acting out similar to these clips of Amanda. I'm not sure of the prognosis on her condition, but at least she's finally getting some help. I just hope some liberal Judge doesn't put her back on the street or it's just going to get worse.
