Why Money Was Invented: People Value Things Differently

How do we assign a value to goods and services? Money is the answer. This is why money was invented. It's hard to barter something YOU think has a certain value which I think is worth a different value.

EXAMPLES:
*** A client wants me to meet him at the Galleria and we will spend my fee on sexy corsets and garter belts together and then go back to my incall for playtime to repay him for that fee.
PROBLEM: That's not how I was going to spend my fee. He doesn't get to dictate how the money is spent when he is paying me.
SOLUTION: He can come to my incall, have our date, and then pay me and watch me do online bill payment with it if he finds it fun to spend MY money together. Because that's how I intend to spend the money I make today. LOL!

***A client is dying to eat at a very pricey restaurant where multiple courses will cost hundreds of dollars. Is it ok if he pays for the meal in lieu of my fee?
PROBLEM: Same as above, that's not how I would have spent **MY*** money. If you're going to pay me a fee, then YOU don't get to decide how I spend MY fee
SOLUTION: He can spend his own money to eat at the fancy place alone and them come visit me and pay me my fee in cash, equivalent to what he was going to spend for my meal. I'll eat simply on my own dime and have more money left to pay my bills.

***A hobbyist recently asked if airfare, hotel costs, and meals are enough to compensate an escort for a long weekend out of state.
PROBLEM: If she wants to spend HER money (the fees she collects), then she gets to pick the flight/hotel/destination/and her traveling companions ( a sister, a friend, a fellow provider, kids)/ and have independence.
SOLUTION: Waiting to see how this gets solved. Probably a local lady out there will be best since she doesn't NEED the airfare/hotel/meals and can give him the actual cost in dollars for her time.

I think it is pretty obvious that the client should pay for all of those things and the fee for "time", if the lady isn't his pseudo girlfriend, or she likes his company enough to waive the fee. These things need to be explicit, though, so the guy asks, you say no, both parties take it from there.
Let's say a lady wants to go to Vegas, but not necessarily with me. I really wouldn't want to pay for all of her time, for instance, on the 2000 dollar overnight rate, if I bought her ticket and let her stay for me free in my room. I would pay the rate for an hour of "time".
Of course, she's free to do what she wants outside of my room.

I thought you ladies were spending my money (which is now yours) on Louis Vuitton or Gucci bags, not on online bill payments.

For the barter system to work, he has to have something YOU want, not something he thinks you should want. Makes me wonder how much more than New York the white man got for beads and mirrors.

Barter is a system of exchange by which goods or services are directly exchanged for other goods or services without using a medium of exchange, such as money. It is distinguishable from gift economies in that the reciprocal exchange is immediate and not delayed in time.

Negotiation is a dialogue between two or more people or parties, intended to reach an understanding, resolve point of difference, or gain advantage in outcome of dialogue, to produce an agreement upon courses of action, to bargain for individual or collective advantage, to craft outcomes to satisfy various interests of two people/parties involved in negotiation process. Negotiation is a process where each party involved in negotiating tries to gain an advantage for themselves by the end of the process. Negotiation is intended to aim at compromise.


Without asking, there is no way to establish a dialogue to achieve a possible mutually beneficial outcome in both cases above. Why complain about it...simply say no, and move on to the next suitor.

The only problem I see in the three scenarios Honey Rose posted was no mention of taint. Its called taint for tat for a reason. Both parties have to be honest and up front about expectations and compensation. I know the pleasure of my company keeps the ladies calling my phone but we all know they just want my 1.3" of dangling death.
