Yes, that's right, yesterday I had my foreskin lopped off. If you're interested to know about it, read on.
As the providers I have seen know, and as some of my reviews attest, I often have difficulty reaching orgasm. Even with someone as gorgeous and amazing as Tonia Touche! I maintain an erection, but cannot finish even with a partner who's really trying to get me off. I have never understood why, and simply assumed it to be some kind of curse (although women have often found it a blessing). Well, things reached a tipping point recently.
For the last 6 months or so, I have been on hiatus from the hobby while I pursue a civilian relationship. I have been lucky enough to meet a wonderful girl who is smart and beautiful. She is also a hellcat BCD. While the occasional tryst with a provider used to leave my foreskin a little beaten up, regular and repeated rounds of provideresque sex with the S.O. - typically without denouement - left it demolished. Sore, split and swollen. Then, one day, disaster struck.
While engaging in some standing doggie in the shower, I got over-enthusiastic, withdrew too far, plunged forward but my foreskin caught on outer lips of my girlfriend's box, which had been washed clean of natural juices by the shower. OUCH! I pulled out to see blood running from the end of my penis. Quite a lot of blood, in fact. I was pretty much freaked.
Once the bleeding stopped and I'd calmed down enough to start thinking straight, I got onto the internet to see if I could figure out what the fuck had happened. What I found is that I had torn the frenelum, which is the piece of skin that attaches the foreskin to the head of the penis. Researching my accident also lead me to discover a condition called phimosis, which is when the foreskin is unable to retract fully over the head of an erect penis. Numerous pennies dropped.
While my condition was nowhere near as severe as the photos on the Wikipedia link above, I had always had trouble getting the foreskin to retract fully. If it did, it was painful. If it didn't, the constant pulling and stretching of it during sex would leave it mashed as I described above. It also meant that I was missing out on stimulation as the foreskin covered the head of my penis during sex - which explained the difficulty achieving orgasm.
The solution, was circumcision.
I did a lot of research and found there to be a lot of conflicting theories. Some say it's excruciatingly painful, and results in a loss of sensation. Others say the opposite. The "others" seemed more credible to me, and I found some personal accounts, like this one, that helped to convince me that circumcision was the right choice.
I won't bore you with the drudgery and frustrations of the medical system (of which there were many), and will cut (hehehe) to the chase.
Preparation for the surgery was minimal: lay off blood thinners (aspirin) for at least a week, use an antibiotic cream under the foreskin daily, shave your meat and two veg (which I do anyway) and wash down your bits and IV locations with surgical soap the night before and the morning of. Nothing to eat or drink for 8 hours prior to surgery.
The doctor warned me that there will be a significant amount of "trauma" to the old man, and that it would look like some kind of medieval battleaxe - with knotted stitches around the end of what remained of the skin tube. The stitches were dissolvable, which would take 4-6 weeks, and I wasn't to use my dick for anything other than pissing for at least 4 weeks.
The surgery itself, for me, was performed under a general anesthetic. Much of what I read, and from what my regular doctor told me, pointed to this being a procedure typically done under local anesthetic. I asked my urologist about this, and he said simply that he "didn't want me moving around". Fair enough. I was wary of being put under, but quite liked the idea of being out of it when they took a scalpel to junior.
The moment arrived and I was wheeled into the OR. They added the anesthetic to the IV, and I remember nothing else until I came to in the recovery room. I was woozy from the anesthetic and (probably) the pain killers. I felt no pain downstairs or anywhere else. I had a look: my dick was wrapped in gauze and surgical tape, but poking out from the end, making it look something like a sushi roll, was the head of my penis. No flesh to be seen. Great!
I was kept in recovery until I was over the effects of the anesthetic and until I could pee. They said there would be some blood in it the first time. I had to drink 3 cans of soda to supplement to saline drip in order to squeeze out that first piss. It was a little difficult because the dressing was tight over my dick, but I got it out eventually and there was no blood. Awesome! I was discharged with a script for painkillers, which I was to take as needed, and told to leave the dressing on until late morning the next day (today).
I crashed asleep that afternoon and woke up feeling great. No hangover from the meds and, more importantly, no pain from below. I pee'd a couple more times during the day without any trouble or blood. Later that evening, I started to feel like there was something missing from my dick - and put it down to the meds wearing off and me starting to sense that there was no foreskin. But, when I went to pee once more (they pump you so full of fluids at the hospital that you pee a lot afterwards), I found that the dressing had come off. It wasn't supposed to be off yet, but everything seemed fine.
My dick was bruised looking, but not tender. The cut seemed clean, not bloody or clotted, and I could see no stitches but I wasn't going to start pulling it around to find them.
Today, I awoke to a morning chubby, that wasn't comfortable. A piss and not looking at my girlfriend sleeping next to me helped it go away before anything got too bad (4 weeks is going to be brutal...). Otherwise, still no pain but a little bit more swollen and bruised looking than yesterday.
Today I get to take a shower - being careful to keep my dick as dry as possible, but wetting it enough to remove any remaining gauze that's sticking to the cut. After about a week, I can shower as normal and after about 2 weeks, I can do anything I want that doesn't involve an erection (although it's healing so fast that I don't see how I'm going to avoid at least jerking off before the 4 weeks are up). I have one follow-up visit with the urologist, then I should be back in the game.
I can't wait to try out my newly cut dick. I'll let you know how it goes (i shouldn't take long!).
