How do I edit my advatar from an image I took that is not from stock photos?

To change your AVATAR, look on the left side of the screen, and click on USER CP (stands for User Control Panel, I believe)

When it takes you to that area, click on EDIT AVATAR.

It will give you the option of choosing a boatload of standards, or you can rool down toward the bottom of the screen, underneath the boring standards, to upload a file.
