Bills Training Camp

The Drummer's Avatar
The Buffalo Bills training camp has been at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford for the past dozen years or so. I live a stone throw away and haven’t been once. I have no need to worry about parking or shuttles; I could walk for heaven’s sake! And most times admission’s free.

Since the Bills are, in my mind, the local team, I follow them pretty closely through the D&C, the Internet, etc.

From what I’ve read; this year there have been upgrades made to camp, including concessions and camp activities for children.

I drive by quite often and, at night, it’s all lit up and the atmosphere appears to be quite dynamic.

Have any of you ever been? If so, what’s your take on camp? If you haven’t been, why not?

never went. I ether
a) like to save my disappointment for latter

b) do not want to be in for a greater disappointment

But I do wonder if the new coach wish he was in cuse.

Granted, the practices are not within walking distance for me... but the past 13 years have greatly diminished my enthusiasm for the team.
I'm old enough to remember Jack Kemp taking us to within one win of participating in the first Super Bowl. I remember Fergie and The Juice..... and the payoff to all of that was the team that Polian put together.
I hope that Doug Whaley (sp?) can rekindle the magic, and I wish him the best.... but other passions now occupy my free time.....

I only get there a few times each year. But the hope of every August keeps me mesmerized. I think they will win 9 or 10 games this year.
Thank you,

I anticipate the team to be better prepared this year. According to reports, Doug Marrone's camp ain't no country club!

So rain is good for golf low scores. But only if you can hit your drives straight. Ya got to get to the green safe in the first place.

Let's savor the 44-20 preseason win - even though it means absolutely nothing!

EJ looked decent.

In brief, what I enjoyed most in Sunday’s preseason showing was the youthful exuberance of both players and coaching staff.

The Bills have a lot of speed burners on the roster: the revamped linebacking core, wide receivers and a couple quarterbacks. Doug Marrone has a predicament many coaches would envy – who to cut to trim the roster?

Marquise Goodwin has world-class speed (as was on display Sunday). “I just ran for my life!” he was quoted as saying afterward.

QB Jeff Tuel (undrafted free agent) also looked impressive in his NFL debut.

It may only be a preseason outing, but the Bills just might put a decent product on the field this year, something the fan base certainly is entitled to.

Marrone, it seems, means business. After Sunday’s meeting in Indianapolis it was right back to work with practice scheduled on Monday.
