IRS still not processed paper returns

IRS still has not processed tons of 2019 paper tax returns. Because of that, taxpayers have no record of them filing a return. Because of that, they are not eligible for stimulus payments.

Cheers to our government agencies.
They stopped processing all returns -- both e-filed and paper returns -- for a few months last year because they were the ones put in charge of delivering the first round of stimulus checks as quickly as possible.

So many people received their stimulus checks but did not receive their tax refund for several months. No doubt that in many cases the tax refund was the larger check.

But hey this was all done in the name of "helping people that were desperate for money."

Many millions. Makes it difficult to get a bank loan because there is no IRS transcript available.

Eventually you will get stimulus payments. But since there is no record of a 2019 tax return processed for you, you will either have to wait, or get a reduction on your 2020 taxes.

Makes it difficult also for people who want to start receiving social security. Since your earnings record for 2019 will be 0, until your tax return is processed, your benefit may be lower.

You don't understand. If the IRS shows no record of a tax return processed, your social security record will show 0 income for that year.

Also, it is never a good idea to refile, or file 2 tax returns.

My brother says the IRS says he'll get his $600 check March 20. He thinks he may get his "$2000" check earlier.
