I am a researcher seeking volunteers to participate in a study about sex workers' experiences of seeking mental health treatment from a sex-positive perspective. The purpose of this study is to explore the lives of consensual sex workers in Nevada, and how they navigate their social relationships. This research is intended to help therapists understand sex workers' unique relational and therapeutic needs.
Participation in this study would require either completing a short online or survey or engage in a one-hour interview in person, by phone, or video chat. Participation is voluntary, and there are no consequences for choosing not to participate and your responses are confidential. There are no incentives for participating.
To participate, individuals must:
a) 18 years old or older
b) Currently working full-time in the adult industry with primarily physical sexual contact with your clients in Nevada
c) Define much of your time in the adult industry to be consensual
d) Have considered attending therapy or have attended therapy
