Anyone ever tried to extort you?

I recently received a couple different phone calls and texts from a (516) area code . They were implying that I needed to pay them for wasting one of their vip escorts time . Ten days apart I get a text with family’s info , my address and some threats that he’s gonna send some goons to collect or have my family pay.
Dude has a NYC/ Jerey accent, said his name was Jose. Had anyone had anything similar happen to them? I told him he was nuts and I don’t waste peoples time. Regardless I hope things don’t escalate, and he’s obv not getting a dime .

Ignore the ahole.
Block the tele numbers
How did they get your personal info??
Did you not use a burner tele #?

Other options:
Tell them you turned their info over to an atty as extortion is a felony.
Tell them to meet you someplace.
Address of local leo
Address of bail bond outfit
Address of local clown college.

OK seriously, always try do background checks on gals. There's more than enough gals that you don't need to take chances on an unknown.

Btw. You can post the number you contacted and an ad link.
Good idea ,
They must have just looked my number up and gathered public info. I’m not sure who is behind it, if I knew the girl I saw I’d post the add. But seriously I didn’t see anyone he’s talking about, at the most it was a number I texted and they asked for a gift card for services . The number would not be from around CNY. They are definitely clowns

I had a few threatening text messages and voice mail messages like that a few years ago from long distance numbers as well. I just ignored them and they stopped.
I had one last week. I delt with it.

Never use your real number and never tell anyone your real name. Ever. I have had a UTR for like 7 years and she still doesn’t know my real name or number. Keep your personal life as separate as possible
Of course. That is part of the fun of hobbying!
