The nastiest places to catch other peoples germs is a casino. Especially any game played with chips. People cough in their hand (or just out in the open), return from bathrooms without washing their hands, stick their fingers in their nose or in their mouth, dig in their ears scratch various body parts and then handle chips which go in a pot that is spread to all other players at that game. The players at the game cashes in their chips and which are then redistributed to the next player with cash. One dude/dudette with Corona infects the whole table and thus the whole casino.

Wonder when they are going to quarantine casinos?

How about Strip Clubs? I was just at BDD this week, and was discussing with a dancer whether they might shut down the clubs if things get worse. I don't know if the government has authority to do that, maybe it does exist in the law somewhere, but almost certainly many dancers and customers would stop going.

good point about Casinos.. probably as bad an atmosphere as one can be, Corona would thrive! all the Geriatric Slot Players would catch the virus, and the countdown would begin... which will kill them first, the virus, or their smoking habits?

I have heard of several Concerts canceled due to Corona fears.. may be many more on the way.
No casino, no spa
I need to find a new hobby

I just left Daiso in Carrollton, I took notice when the Cashier handed my change back on a small platter.. I guess they want to appear like they are taking Corona seriously.

Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that are typically mild, such as the common cold, though rarer forms such as SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 can be lethal. Symptoms vary in other species: in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease, while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea. There are yet to be vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevent or treat human coronavirus infections.

Coronaviruses comprise the subfamily Orthocoronavirinae, in the family Coronaviridae, order Nidovirales, and realm Riboviria.[5][6] They are enveloped viruses with a positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome and a nucleocapsid of helical symmetry. The genome size of coronaviruses ranges from approximately 27 to 34 kilobases, the largest among known RNA viruses.[7] The name coronavirus is derived from the Latin corona, meaning "crown" or "halo", which refers to the characteristic appearance reminiscent of a crown or a solar corona around the virions (virus particles) when viewed under two-dimensional transmission electron microscopy, due to the surface covering in club-shaped protein spikes.

MGM Properties just shut down the buffets in all 7 of their properties in Vegas.
No way I would step inside a Vegas or OK casino now. Between the chips, the slot machines, and cash handling there is no upside...and I would lose money on top of that for sure. And if I can't eat at the cheap buffet what is the upside? But in all seriousness, there is no where to hide now. In 3 or 4 weeks it will be rampant throughout the U.S. and in every state. Unless Mother Nature is kind to us and allows the heat of spring and summer to minimize its effects, which is largely unknown right now, I think we are in for a long lasting pandemic with massive health and economic impacts. Hope I'm wrong and this thing gets contained soon; but the government actions and responses indicates that will not be the case.
