I'm sure I am making things more difficult than they really are, but I always find discussion boards a bit unintuitive. Could someone kindly point me to a post or "how-to" on posting reviews correctly? Feel free to flame if you must.

You click the "new review" button once you get into the reviews section. I believe it brings up a standard form for you to write in.

Go to the buttons at the top of the page and click on Forum Guidelines. You'll find a lot of good info there.
