there are so many options this weekend. of course ACL has packed the town but there are lots of other things happening. what are you doing this weekend?
as a newbie may I ask the providers if a weekend like acl or sxsw brings more business or less business.

I would think that the providers see less business; that would explain the many providers who choose to run specials when there is some kind of big deal going on.
