Best food in Jackson?

Ill be in Jackson next Tuesday and Wednesday. What's the one place you have to eat in Jackson? I tried mugshots last time I was in town. Really good burger.
Burgers and Blues is pretty cool, there are lots of good eats in Jackson. Including the food!
Lol thanks. I might see Lillian while I'm in town. Already got a play date for Thursday but looks like it could be worth the splurge

For a real dining experience try the Mayflower or the Elite on Capital St. or Crochels (think I spelled that right) on old hwy 80 west

Lea Madisson has introduced me to both Table 100 and Georgia Blue in Jackson - both fantastic!

Not to mention that Lea is too...

the froghead grill in clinton next to applebees has the best burgers around, order the hurricane burger. I eat there a lot
Try Walkers Drive Inn. Food is about the best in town.

My long term plans with Asian linn are a go soooo ill miss out on Lillian but I'm still going to try at least two of these food places. Want seafood one day and Italian the other
There are not a lot of choices for italian around here, we have a shit load of mexican places and asian ones though.
Really only two italian places i know about are biaggis ( it sucks imho) and amerigo (never been there, always packed and i hate crowds)
Best pizza is at pizza shack on fortification not far from i55. Be warned though, fortification looks like it got hit with an ied.. you will need a truck most likely to get to pizza shack.

For seafood, crechelles has good fried shrimp... A place that used to be great is two rivers seafood at canton, dont know if it still is. They screwed us big time on the check on my birthday 3 years ago and i will not go back ever.
For Italian, Bravo's in Highland Village is really good, and Amerigo's on Old Canton near end of County Line rd is good as well.

For Seafood, Bonefish Grill in Madison. I'm drawing a blank on other local places.
I had forgotten about bravos, still need to try there myself.

Some years ago, there was a place in south Jackson called Mario's. I knew the owner, and the food was incredible. He was written up in the paper and was very popular as a result. I have no idea is the restaurant is still there - I moved away long ago. If Mario's is still in business, it's worth the trip to south Jackson.

I never got the appeal of either place, I am half Italian and know good Italian food... It's in my blood. His place and his sons could not even compete with stouffers frozen crap from Walmart. I lived less than 5 miles from his sons place when it was in Clinton, I barely made it home before the scene from the exorcist got re-enacted... Almost put me in the hospital. All 3 of us got sick, me worse than the others.

Damn, that's sad news. Thinking about when the restaurant was popular, it was nearly 30 years ago. I'm also half Italian - even better, I'm half Sicilian where the food is really good - and Mario made some wonderful dishes back in the '80s. I think the last time I was there was some time in the '90s. Sad that things changed so much.
