Turner was forced out after the Time-AOL buyout. He pledged a billion dollars to the UN to fight climate change. The pledged money ran out about four years ago.

I don’t think he ever went bankrupt. He lost 8 billion on the AOL/Time Warner merger. He also gave the UN a billion and is the largest private land owner in the US.

Turner was the majority owner of the network, so how was it possible that Steve Case of AOL able to force him out.
