I will be the first to admit I have not seen every episode of Dexter. And that there was a lot of backlash at the Series Finale. Most were either looking at it from a he should get caught or be killed point of view. From a serial killer show I see their point.

What I think the show writers were trying to do is show a character that lacked human emotions finally be able to understand what it feels like to have lost, to grieve. So I understand why they ended it that way. That being said it was a bit tame and in my opinion the show was running on fumes for a few seasons and lost its creativity. The final season just was not that good so those expecting a great finale came in with too high expectations. This should have ended after 5 or 6 seasons. Just the ole ABQ's opinions.
