The test was scheduled for this Thursday but has been pushed back due to Hurricane Florence.

I would have probably texted a provider moments before the alert, this alert would come through, and I would have thought "damn it! that Bitch is FBI or Homeland Security! I'm fucked"!
that is a Wednesday, and very close to the time we get those warning sirens to test tornado equipment. imagine that going off, then this alert, for someone who doesn't know either is coming.. panic in Detroit!

Article says it will only come through if you’re phone is switched on ...so turn it off for a bit around that time

I think most people leave theirs off except when using.
