Just got home from Texas kicking Saint Francis ass by 30+. Our 2 point guards didn't play. Isiah Turner fractured wrist t till probably 1st of the year and Javon Felix foot injury. Prince Ibeh had back spasims ad played about 2 min and left. Myles Turner finally looked up to billing. Smooth shot (11-12) inside and out. He could be the best thing we've had since Durant.
Nice win by UT today on a not so good looking shot, but hey, it went in.
Kentucky game will be interesting. Which UK will show up? The one that smashed Kansas, or the one that let Providence hang around till the last few minutes? If the latter, UT has a shot.

Kentucky to damn tall and good. Cats beat Providence by 20 and played half ass. They will sadly beat UT by 20. Myles Turner looked up to the hype one time this year. He looks lost on offence. W was Cam Ridley doing yesterday? Cats have a real shot at going undefeated. Will they? I hope not and hope TX wins but I doubt it. Taylor is sorely missed.
Is Barnes team going to fold again? About time he starts Turner. At lest he calls for the ball underneath. Ridley has really degressed this year. Lammert was playing great but seems has disappeared a bit the last several games as well. Can't wait to see Taylor causing chaos again. Common Holmes, take more shots!
My opinions/observations:
Lammert: Sucks. Barnes giving him PT early in season, will come off bench when bigs in foul trouble
Ridley: Doesn't work to get open and needs a good pass into interior. Will be okay come year end
Holmes: Solid
Taylor: Needs to bring back kid n play high fade
Javon Felix: Too many turnovers. Slow on D
Ibeh: Matumbo like
Yancy: Good sub
Holland: My favorite player
Myles Turner: Just give him the ball. Pick and roll all day with Holland
We have both Shaquille and Jordan. Championship!
Wait. It's Shaquille Cleare (from the Bahamas) and Jordan Barnett (good sub)
I've never understood why Barnes doesn't get an offensive guru asst coach
Watching us get killed by OU made me want to throw up. It was the worst game we have played in the last 2 years. How can every single player have an off game? The guys looked lost and out of it. Normally I would blame it on the coach not having a game plan but we were doing stupid turnover after turnover.
2-4 the last 6 games in conference. Way to fu*king go Barnes! This team is better than this!
If he was the football coach he'd have been gone long ago. Time for some new blood.
If I want to see monkeys I will go to the zoo.
Can't believe how Texas blew the game against ISU. I am not a UT fan although I live in Austin, but Barnes really screwed up big time by going into a delay game with 10 minutes left in the game. I think this might have been the final nail in his coffin. Especially if they miss the Big Dance.
Well they got in no thanks to Barnes. They have lost several close games at the end the same way as Iowa State. How can you let Iowa State have a 12-0 run at the end of the game and win by 2? He played lottery pick Turner 3 min in the 2nd half. Our guards suck but starts 3 instead of 2 when our strength is inside. We lead the nation in blocked shots for goodness sakes! I'm an idiot fan who has them beating Butler and even Notre Dame. The thing is they could and should.
Could and should but won't and can't are the facts.
I've been saying for the last four years that Barnes needs to go. His teams have always lacked killer instinct. The excuses people make for this guy are amazing. He usually only get a year with the better players, but that is a reality for all top programs so it's no excuse.
Barnes took the program a level up from Penders no doubt. It's now time for a coach to take it to the next level.
Thanks for the service Rick Barnes, but it's time to go.
Well said Sixx.
Barnes will be better suited at a mid-major school where he will have players that are there for 3-4 years. His coaching style does not work with the 1 and done era that we are currently in. He is good at developing players over time. He is a task master and that does not play well the entitled top tier players these days.
So who do you go after? a young upstart like a Rick Petino assistant coach? An energetic coach from a smaller school? A proven winner at a Major school? We owe Barnes a 1.75 M buyout. I don't want to change just for change. It may not be to ethical but I would let it known that we are looking and see who applies and then make a decision.
