Dallas Stars...

Lindy Ruff has sure screwed this thing up...

His mid-management of the goalies in the playoffs should get his ass fired... Yes, he has two good goalies, but no great goalie... Cari was hot going into he playoffs... You ride that to the bitter end... But no, Ruff pulls him every time the defense blows it and a goal goes in...

After today it will be a tough job to win the next two.
Kari is a good goaltender, but not elite like the Stars need if they are going to get to the Stanley cup final and win it. The defense is not that good either, but they have a great offense, the bad thing is, when they go up against a team that plays great defense, the offense is a wash, exposing that defense. I hope Nill addresses this in the off season.

That is where the two goalie system is coming from.

But the stars as a team at times need a much better backcheck, they need to cover their points, and I mean Holy shit they had not just three guys behind the net but FOUR guys behind their own net. Fuck who is there to help the goalie if everyone is behind the net? It did pop out and we were scored on. What comes first a great defense or a great goalie. I will challenge that every outstanding goalie needs at least a strong defense helping. Good news is we have lots of great talent that is young and developing that will be outstanding, Klingberg, Johns, Nemeth, are very young. Demers, Russell, and Oduya are strong and we have more solid guys developing in Austin. Jim Nill is amazing.

The Stars had the best record in the West this year, and last year we did not make the playoffs, the Stars will be better each year under Nill, just be patient it has been a hell of a turnaround, and the Blues are probably the best team this year in the West, and I think they might be the best in all of the NHL this year I guess we will see.
Game SEVEN tonight....in Dallas!
Have we ever hosted a game seven before? I can't remember....should be exciting no matter!

If Stars can get past the Blues this evening, I think they'll have a decided edge in the next round (vs winner of San Jose & Nashville). BUT...first thing first.....win tonight, kiss the Blues goodbye and move on to the Western Conference Championship round!

GO STARS!!!!!!
The Stars will win IF:
We spend as much time in their zone as they do in ours.
We don't take stupid penalties (are you listening, Rousell?).
If our defenseman Steven Johns rocks a few of their players and gets the crowd going.
If Goligaski doesn't help the Blues with an assist.
If we play Moen and sit Val.

Other pluses: Jamie scores a goal, our defense blocks shots, we don't have to pull our starting goalie (Kari).

Or...Stars win if the reverse of all that shit happens, lol.

Second period and Game over.
Great season and yes we are young.
Looking forward to next year.

Go Rangers at this point.
Two half goalies do not make a whole one...those two just ain't what they used to be. Next year should be a good one.

Unfortunately a terrific season ended with a THUD last night. However you have to feel good about the overall direction of the team. Lindy & Jim Nill know what they're doing & NHL hockey is relevant in Dallas again.

Can we please not have our pro sports teams play any team from St. Louis again in the playoffs!
I went to that game last night and left after the second period, it was awful!

Yeah, that pair of St Louis-based teams has definitely dealt out a snootful of playoff pain to the metroplex these past few years, right....

Maybe now we can understand the ill-feelings the city of Buffalo and their fans have toward Big D, huh?
