It seems as if theres alot more off field scandals and controversies in the NFL since Roger Goodell has been commissioner?
I'm not sure about absolute numbers but it sure seems as though the officiating has gone downhill. Also Goodell's attempt to be Judge Jury and Executioner seems to have blown up (see "deflategate") in his face. His way of handing out punishments (some get almost nothing, others get slammed) isn't helpful either. But since the NFL has never been more profitable, and since that's really what he's hired to do, don't look for any changes anytime soon.
