Happy Birthday Hubble

Let's not forget to wish happy birthday to the Hubble Telescope.

She's still a spring chicken at a mere 20 years old.

Where else could we have gotten such out of this world images of distant worlds and galaxies we didn't even know existed?

Most images from the Hubble are truly amazing. It's so hard to fatham how far away these images are.

Its only going to get better guys. Scheduled for a 2014 launch is the James Webb Space Telescope, which will see further into space than the Hubble ever dreamed.

Have a look!

Wow!

Thanks for posting that link about the James Webb telescope, PSD. That is exciting news!

The Hubble had many unforeseen problems in the beginning and even later on that made the scientists at NASA wonder if such a project was just too difficult for mere mortals, but somehow the agency managed to work out solutions on Earth and then sent astronauts into space to execute them and the telescope was rescued.

Let's hope the lessons learned from Hubble will benefit the James Webb project.

. . . Imagine the thrill from the new things we will see and mysteries unraveled!
