Here we are, back in cold and flu season...

...not the most fun topic, but a real concern. How do you protect yourself in close-contact sports, and is there a specific protocol if one in the party has the sniffles, etc?

I always get a Flu shot every year to protect myself from that. As far as a cold goes I wouldn't go see a provider if I was sick. Here's a link from WebMD about preventing colds:

I get a flu shot every year. This year, it's supposed to be a combined flu and H1N1 shot.

I shudder when people around me sneeze w/o covering up in some manner. I don't flat-out refuse to shake hands, but I do limit if possible w/o offending. I carry hand sanitizer and use it frequently.

In the final analysis, I think you're OK as long as nobody has a fever (what I learned from mom). Now that may be an old wives' tale. This is where L chimes in with his expertise.
Good stuff, thank you, guys.
Actually, I found that frequent exposure to other people's bacteria gave me a lot more resistance; I'm literally almost never sick while I'm working as an escort.

Haven't had a flu shot in twenty years. Haven't had the flu. ( knock on wood). I think if your in good physical shape it does tend to fight it off. I run all the time and must admit other than a minor cold haven't got sick in years. Don't give me that too old crap either. I'm almost 60. Get out and make yourself well. Ok enough of the health advertisement. Get a flu shot and have fun with providers
The beginings of flu/cold is the most contagious is what I was told. No tonsel hockey
