A casual dinner, like a meet n greet? That sounds like fun

Biggest risks? Running into someone you know in civilian world and having any action take place at the meet and greet. Other than that, it was pretty fun before. Not sure we have the same level of commitment that the last organizer had. It's not easy getting people together.
"Running into someone you know in civilian world" - exactly why I would not attend.
This would probably only work for the unattached hobbyists out there. I agree that most guys here wouldn't want their hobby life colliding with their real-world identities.

Also, a M&G is pretty high risk in an area that's notorious for overactive LE... All it takes is someone disclosing the date/location to the wrong person.
I think it would be fun for the ladies to do but for the clients it would probably be a big risk running into people you work with and then them running into other family members yea that would be awkward your son in law walking up to you or your boss ECT.....

Hold it in NLR and post invites on BP..

Even as a single hobbiest I have avoided these gatherings since the raid in Houston many moons ago. That was no fun at all.....
Would be fun,but time and day, would be tuff, the moon and stars dont always line up...

LEO can't do a thing about a meet and greet except possibly identify people but as long as there's no activity, their hands are tied.

Started trying to remember who was there a few years ago and I can't think of one lady who is still active.

It's happened before.

I've been to M&G's out of state, & every one I've ever been to had a strict 'no-hobbying during the M&G' rule.

Don't get me wrong, I think a meet and great would be a lot of fun! I'm just very apprehensive for obvious reasons.

It would be fun but im afraid I might meet my brother-in-law or worse father-in-law. that would suck.

other than that it would be some good times. lol

I was invited to a couple of them in Tulsa a few years ago (during the days of aspd) and had a really good time. It was pretty much just a normal party, but you didn't have to guess which girls might be ahh....receptive. Tulsa is outside my normal friends/contacts area so I really wasn't worried about running into anybody I didn't want to.
It has worked well in other cities, and I have many fond memories!

Some will either choose to go or not. There's methods to keeping things low-key if you research.

There was definitely a lot of action happening in the rooms that weren't part of the party, but that was a heavily screened event. I didn't participate with any of that, but met a couple of girls that I may not have been interested in before that I did meet up with soon after.
