I wonder if the situation were reversed what the outcome would have been. What If he came to her incall and robbed her?

Very old story, hashed out here a long time ago.

As usual, the actual facts were much different from what the newsbites make you think.

Most importantly, don't buy into the hype that "the state of Texas says you can shoot an escort who steals from you."

It wasn't the state, it wasn't the judge, it was a jury who decided to not convict this one guy. The jury didn't explain their reasons, and there were several other points raised by the defense in this case.

Whether you feel this decision was right or wrong, there was no legal precedent set in this case, just a not guilty jury verdict for this one guy in this one case.

Don't think you'll get away with it if you shoot a thief of any kind.

Even if you do manage to eventually escape a conviction, it's probably going to be very expensive in legal fees.

It's also not a foregone conclusion that you will get acquitted if you shoot a "real" thief. There are some conditions and interpretations that the jury has to make.
I'm sure it was not black and white. Nothing is. I was just asking the question for the sake of open discussion.
